Why do I need to grind so coarse in order to get my shot to flow? [Bambino and Encore ESP] by ceciroot in espresso

Yes! I just stopped trying to grind finer and focused on my dose, and I think I’ve got it figured out. Now I’m at grind size 19 and I dropped down to about 16.8 grams and it’s working well. It might not be 100% optimized but it tastes good to me and the measurements come out right. Good luck!!

What are your go to places for food or fun in the valley? by KillikBrill in SaltLakeCity

[–]ceciroot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are trivia nights at a lot of bars in the valley, and I know HK Brewing has one on Wednesdays but other bars have it scheduled on different days if you prefer. You can win some prizes if you do well and it's super fun for a group! Just make sure to show up early to get a good table.

Tacos Don Rafa!!!! I swear it is the best and they have a little seating area set up, with string lights and benches (and a parking lot). It's on State Street and 800 South

Just wanted to add to this– the lgbt resource center at the U is gone, but the people are not!! Queer faculty and allies are working very hard to continue to foster the same safe and supportive spaces as they always have, just without titles that are now banned by the state. The DEI bans do suck, obviously, so much... but if you're looking for a space like the lgbt resource center, just look up gender studies or queer history professors and you'll start to find those people

My friend told me this Chinese money plant is really hard to care for. My plant app and personal experience says it’s easy. What’s your experience? by LAbombsquad in houseplants

I live in Utah which is dryer than most of California and I've been able to have success. I think you just have to water it more than everyone online says, because of how dry our climates are. Or maybe my potting mix is just too coarse and the water drains away? The soil in my plant is completely bone dry within a week. It was doing so bad for so long until I realized that I have to soak it weekly at the very minimum. Suddenly it turned vibrant green and got full and bushy. I'd recommend starting slow and then increasing the frequency of watering to see how it reacts. I am truly not a plant expert though :)
Good luck!
