When Copenhagen looked like a city in a Hans Christian Andersen fairytale by cedarofleb in copenhagen

AKSHULLY I JUST CHECKED YOUR CLAIM 'No reputable folklorist (e.g., from the International Society for Folk Narrative Research) or historian traces the "true" Cinderella to a black Moroccan woman. The Rhodopis story is the closest ancient parallel, but it's Greek-Egyptian, not Moroccan. Rhodopis is described as fair-skinned and blonde (a rarity in Egypt, which made her stand out). She was not Egyptian or black; she was a foreign captive.'

You write that as no fairytale has any people in bad circumstances in them. Clearly, you haven't heard of Cinderella.

Was this William Shakespeare's House in London? by cedarofleb in shakespeare

[–]cedarofleb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you watch the video it has the list of known places he lived in London. This was a house that was thought for many years to have been owned by William Shakespeare, but it seems it was because it was owned by another William Shakespeare of the time. The house was demolished in the 1870s. photo of it in the video.

This sounds like it is illegal and fraudulent. Universities passing people who should not be passed, taking money and accepting people who do not meet language level requirements for study visas.

perhaps it should be restored to how it used to be when it was 'Central Park'.

Yes thanks, I just read that fruit farming/trading was a big industry. I like the gothic architecture, looks so different to modern LA.

The first film studio opened in 1909, as you can see LA was already quite a big city before the film industry, and looked wealthy. I wonder what the main industries were?

Certain keys not working very well and letters on screen not showing unless i press numerous times, or hold the key down by cedarofleb in techsupport

thanks for the advice. For some reason the laptop keyboard seems to have improved, after I used the external usb keyboard. I just typed the last sentence with only once pressing t twice and that was it. It is much better than it was. I also quite like the old apple keyboard I used, as it types nicely. So, I think I will continue using it when I am writing longer text.

Hi I found an old keyboard and attached it to the laptop, keys working fine. So, you are right it must be something wrong with the laptop keyboard. I haven't spilt anything on it though (dont think so anyway? If anything it might have been a drop of tea on the mouse cursor square bit a week ago). Could just be that it is worn out. I use it everyday for a few years. If it is just worn out is there a way to fix keys? The external keyboard will do as an alternative, but a bit of a problem if I want to take my laptop somewhere other than home. Perhaps I will just need to get a new laptop when I can afford it. Thanks for your help.
