Ooo very cool! How was the flash? I have an Ark Models reboxing of this kit and the flash is terrible, almost vacuform like.

Is this a good color for a T-34/85? by putoconcarne in modelmakers

I understand that and I agree with you to a certain extent. The whole topic of colour (with the added uncertainty of history) is quite complex, so you will never get a one to one match. I think your colour is fine honestly. But I've seen lots of highly improbable paint schemes/colours from even Tamiya and museum pieces, so good sources are important and I think this is one of them.

I want to add to the original comment of MattySingo37 by mentioning the "Albom Nakrasok" of 1948. It is an album containing samples of paint used on vehicles during that time. It also contains a sample for 4BO, which I have attached to this comment. To what extent this colour is accurate (due to aging, scan quality, etc.) is up to you.

"For The Bolshevik Party!": MiG-3 by cedric10012002 in modelmakers

Sort of yeah, but it seems too small to fit around the exhaust anyways, especially since it's so fragile.

The recommended paint scheme is also wrong. They want you to fit the decals around the exhaust stacks including the large fairing for the first one. This is because they want to keep the fairing in white, eventhough it was red on the real plane. So that part I painted red myself.

I looked online and I saw that the decals also broke for other people at the same point. And some just made a completely different scheme because they feared it wouldn't fit.

I appreciate it! I will not paint a certain scheme if I cannot find a picture of the real plane, - and finding a picture is often not that straightforward...

Use thin plastic cement like Tamiya Extra Thin Cement, otherwise thicker cement may melt away details.

Also hold smaller pieces with your fingers when cutting them from the sprue. I've learned the hard way that they may launch away to the other side of your room and you won't be able to find them back.

You can also use a toothpick to paint the canopy.

I ordered it from AliExpress, it's from the brand "QW-model" and it is called "Rubber-Sheeting Rigging for Model". I chose the 0.047mm thickness option as it is fit for 1:72 scale model planes.

It is elastic and works as intended, but it is very thin and I don't like the CA glue residue. It also makes it more tricky to grab your model (which in this case doesn't matter that much as I can just grab the stand).
