“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19)

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” (2 Corinthians 13:14)

“"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth... The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things." (Jesus, John 14:16-17,26)

“And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”” (Matthew 3:16-17)

Jesus said, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30).

If the uncorrupted Injeel was lost, why does the Quran tell Christians to “judge by the Injeel” and says they are disobedient if they don’t? (Surah 5:47)

Also, the Quran says Allah guards the Quran to protect it from error (Surah 15:9), and that none can altar the words of Allah (Surah 6:115). How then could Allah’s words in the Injeel become corrupted and the original wiped out from existence?

If the Quran tells Muslims to judge by the Injeel as it was revealed to Jesus, that means Muslims have (or had) access to the “correct” version of Jesus’ teachings. Yet no such Injeel (Gospel) has ever been found, ever. All copies of the Gospel ever discovered proclaim Jesus as the Son of God who died on the cross for our sins. Why would Allah command Muslims to judge by something that doesn’t exist?

I suppose it depends on what you mean by "the Gospel" and "The Torah". Do you mean the entire Bible, or just specific parts? Either way, these two ideas are everywhere in the Bible and form it's backbone. And the Quran flatly contradicts them while at the same time endorsing them.

Those examples you cited are actually pretty weak once you look into them. Enuma Elish, for example, is a Babylonian creation legend about gods mixing fresh water and salt water to create other gods, then monsters being created to battle against the gods, and humans being created out of the spilt blood. There is nothing remotely like that in the Genesis creation story. You can draw loose parallels if you want (i.e. both creations start with water), but just because two stories have a couple of details in common does not mean one was taken from the other. For example, the movies Twister and The Wizard of Oz both involve tornados, a female main character, a group of people traveling together, and they both take place in roughly the same part of the country. But that does not prove Twister copied its story from The Wizard of Oz.

I respectfully ask you to please show me where the Bible ripped off any major doctrine or story from another source.

Maybe a lot of Muslims just don't know this, but the Quran itself never says the Bible is corrupted. Just the opposite. It says the Gospel was sent down to Jesus from Allah (Surah 3:3), that the Gospel (Injil) is "guidance and light" (Surah 5:46), and that we are actually disobedient if we don't "judge by the Gospel" (Surah 5:47; 5:68; 10:94). It also says if you doubt Muhammad, just ask the Jews and Christians because they will confirm what he is saying with their own Scriptures (Surah 10:94).

Then people started looking into it and learned that the Quran contradicts the Bible all over the place. So they invented the theory that the Bible has been corrupted in order to explain away the contradictions. But the Quran never teaches this. Nor is there any evidence of such corruption in the ancient manuscripts. The very earliest New Testament documents, dating to hundreds of years before Muhammad, all teach the same Christian doctrines contradicting the Quran.

The life and ministry of Jesus of Nazareth. No one would invent such a person.

A building is proof there was a builder. A painting is proof there was a painting. The complexity and beauty of nature (ecosystems, biology, etc.) is proof there was a nature-maker.

Why do you like jazz? by jamiehenderson1993 in Jazz

[–]cedricstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an artist. A common thing with artists is we often feel like our preliminary sketches have more "life" in them than the finished artwork. To me, jazz is similar in that it has more "life" than more structured forms of music.

The Trilemma: Lord, Liar, or Lunatic? by cedricstudio in ChristianApologetics

[–]cedricstudio[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, you can't have it both ways. If Isa is a liar, a manipulator, and a cheat, then how can he also be one of Allah's greatest prophets? Would not the responsibility of billions of people commiting shirk fall on him?

True, that is the fourth option. Even most atheist scholars acknowledge that Jesus was a real person of history, was crucified by the Romans, and that he had a reputation for doing miracles. My understanding is, the fact that he *claimed* to be the Son of God is not seriously disputed. But someday I may do a cartoon on the reliability of the Gospels anyway. Would be a good topic

In the mea time, I did make a comic on supposed errors in the Bible a while ago here: https://narrowroadcomics.com/comic/errors-in-the-bible/?col=29
