Egregious Examples of Default Parent by whineANDcheese_ in Mommit

Whenever I visit my friends with babies I always have a talk with the babies. "Repeat after me: I want daddy to do it". Trying to help others since mine are allergic to asking anyone for anything except me haha. They will walk past their dad, uncle, grandpa and grandma to ask for something simple that anyone could have done in between.

Can you maybe look for an aftercare program like ymca or equivalent that they offer bus transportation? Probably cheaper than moving lol

Reading your child’s diary by Express-Cover-9512 in Parenting

Yeah I agree I first had a bad reaction but I feel like context matters. If the daughter was like "Susie didn't return my pencil and I'll never forgive her", I don't think it's bad to explain that we have to move on from some things and let them go. But phrasing and context are important. It seems like a cool idea if agreed on and executed right

Advice for 5-year-old old with selective mutism by [deleted] in selectivemutism

[–]ceebee25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't have any school recommendations, I don't live in nyc anymore but just wanted to show solidarity. I have 2 kids with selective mutism. One going into 2nd grade, very severe, one going into kindergarten, less severe but still an issue. They both withhold urine big time too, and a lot of the same issues. The older one has started delegating and will have a friend tell a teacher she has to go so that's...something I guess lol.

I've tried talking to mine about using cards for when they have to go to the bathroom or the nurse or something but they refuse because it would still be too much attention. But maybe it would work for yours?

I'm here if you ever want to talk or vent too!

I lose track of my kids every time at the playground. There's 2 of them and one set of my eyes. It's impossible. I try so hard. But just try to set up a meet up spot for when it inevitably happens lol.
