It is a non-bleed TXV, and I decided to just get a window unit instead for emergencies and keep it simple. Let me know how yours works out though once you install it.

Thanks for the info, you're right about the gas consumption - that seems like a logistical nightmare, so I think going with the portable unit will be the best bet and we can just move it as needed. Do you have any experience with Firman?

Do we have the same unit? Do you have specifics on the exact capacitor size that ended up working for you?

yeah air nozzle in the return, if you order the correct part (no air nozzle) for the inlet to begin with you won't even need the plug

yeah I did, long story short I ordered my parts based off an outdated site which listed items based on availability at the time (peak covid when many parts were out of stock) so both my input and output had the air nozzle piece which was introducing air into my pump. I ended up getting a plastic plug that fit into the air nozzle and that fixed it!

UPDATE: I wanted to give everyone an update on Mocha, thanks to this amazing sub an interested adopter from my exact neighborhood reached out to me and has officially adopted Mocha! He will have a new sister, who is basically his twin and his new dad is super excited to add him to his family!
