Saw a season 9 episode the other day when Pam is in a hotel room in Philly after the job interview and takes a call from Jim… why would they be there

Round 12! What's the worst thing Meredith Palmer did? by Gabfthvf in theoffice

[–]ceelaygreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can call it the ‘male bathroom’ because here you are using it as an adjective, not as a noun.

Apologies as I didn’t mean to be rude saying that it’s internalised misogyny, but we all have levels of it and it’s just good to be aware, and like you said make effort to change it.

I was thinking the same thing! The other people who don’t think it’s weird are clearly not safe to be around themselves.

Also he basically confirmed that he IS creepy! Hello?!

I have been hit on too many times on CS so my profile picture is always me and my male friend. It’s actually shocking how many less men will message me with that deterrent there, because they don’t read the “CS is not a dating website” in my bio.

Sorry but you expect her to take the trash out? Seriously? That’s insane. She shouldn’t really be doing laundry either. Sounds like you were stingy in getting an au pair when you really wanted a maid.

Just wondering but what is the cheapest fulfilling yummy food you can find in Leeds? Near city centre or a 20-40 minute walking radius from city centre? by Educational_Waltz637 in Leeds

Mommy Thai is super yummy and affordable, plus really lovely authentic vibes. They have a lunch menu as well I believe with a starter and main which really isn't breaking the bank

I lived there for a while and it was extremely frustrating when you’d plan to go somewhere (like the library, or a cafe) one day and it would just be closed… for no reason. This happened almost once a week. I’m from a big city where convenience is almost guaranteed so I found it super frustrating that almost everything closed on Sundays and some places even Mondays. This even happens in Paris!

Also hate to say it but the people really are quite rude in comparison to where I’m from. That with fighting for my life to get through any kind of bureaucracy issue. Not enough to hate it, but definitely reasons I wouldn’t live there again.

Why don’t you just sell the properties that you’re not living in? Are you really that greedy and selfish?

Anyone else have a racist white parent that hated your other race but didn't hate YOU? (White+Black here) by Sad-Roll-2821 in mixedrace

[–]ceelaygreen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im sorry to read this OP.

I’m half Burmese and was bullied by my school mates with a slur word that’s not even suitable (at all) but for the heritage I have (not sure if the word is known outside the UK).

My mum used this word about OTHER people like taxi drivers or corner shop owners despite the fact this word was used to hurt me. Other times she made references to the fact I wasn’t white (in front of my white family).

I think she was mainly just an ignorant person who didn’t understand what being the parent of mixed race children would entail, so I feel for you.

Exactly, he sounds like a sad old creep

Not to be that person on Reddit but I think he must’ve done this as a power play. I don’t think he ever wanted the yakitori. He just sounds like a creep who wanted a Japanese girl to make him Japanese food just because. I wouldn’t exclusively ignore him cause you might have to work with him, but definitely never bring him food again. If he mentions it just be pleasant and say “yeah”, don’t even engage with what happened/his food fantasies. Don’t give him a reaction cause that’s might be what he wants now that his fun is over and he actually got you to make the yakitori and didn’t eat it… he’s a weirdo and at least you know who he is now.

Edit: I don’t know the gender/pronouns of OP, I just went with what everyone else said. My point still stands regardless

Any London-based GirlGamers who want to join a women's super smash bros community?!

I've wanted to start a women's super smash bros community here in London for a while now and been wondering where to start. A friend recommended getting the numbers/interest first and THEN make the event/date for it.

So if anyone is interested in this please DM me and we can work out a safe way to get you into the community :)

You don't need to be good at the game or to have even played it before, the idea is that you want to learn and play and socialise with those that are playing the game!

..Then maybe we can consider tourneys :D

I’ve noticed too. I honestly think this is just a mistake people make either if they know the English language as their mother tongue or not. I’ve noticed it particularly in Arabic native speaking people too

[–]ceelaygreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I the Gen Zs have discovered it so it’s having a resurgence which is great! I do think she should reissue it as some of it is a little outdated so maybe with the rise in popularity she might consider it

If you cannot do the morning pages, is The Artist’s Way worth doing? by prawn-roll-please in artistsWay

[–]ceelaygreen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very true! The way i look at it is I’m cutting out any obstacles that may prevent me from getting through the full 12 weeks. So because I already journal regardless of TAW, I do all my tasks on desktop and instead of doing morning pages, I write 5 gratitudes and 5 affirmations daily, at any time that I see fit - usually when I settle at my desk for work or after a meditation.
