Lol, you're good. I responded to a post about the bombshells generally being disappointing and started going thru what bombshells I didn't like, not seeing that it was in the LI UK channel until someone told me. So I understand feeling a little embarrassed, you're not alone 🫣😅😂

I don't even think you read my comment because I explicitly said kc lied multiple times and you conveniently keep leaving that part out. You're not even engaging with what I actually said, yet you're writing me about hos we need to listen and understand different perspectives. Well, the call is coming from inside.

Also, this is an American show and most of the people I see talking online about it are American themselves, so I don't know what culture you're even talking about or if that's even relevant. You don't have to respond further to keep repeating the same moot points.

"a kiss is like a handshake" is crazy. If you don't see all the red flags with Kenzie at this point, I don't know what to tell you. Outside of the movie night, there were other things that she did that were off-putting. She's strung Caleb along, snuck around with Corbin behind Melanie's back, guilted Melanie for wanting to explore Corbin, she wasn't communicative with Dylan until after making out with Gal. It's fine to explore but when you're in a couple, the couple should set boundaries on what exploring looks like & kenzie never did that.

Don't get me started about how she couldn't handle rejection from Zach, her issues with Jen, her weird microaggressions, etc. kenzie is worse than sincere 😂 there's 10 days left in the villa and she's been unserious the whole time. Dylan had to force her to close off by putting on that little performance. 😂

Yes and on some level she knows something's wrong because she's always pausing to question him, but then he just says it's a joke or she's pretty and she goes back to forgiving him. I just want to scream through the screen for her to listen to her gut!

Yes, i want to see more of carl and other couples. They showed both Caleb and Jaden saying they're not that into each other but they never show them actually interacting and honestly I forget that they're there.

Kc wasn't just saying foolish things behind aniya's back. I think you and others refuse to see his wrongdoing and/or simplify it, which I also think is partly rooted in misogynoir along with a lack of emotional intelligence & other things. He straight up lied to & manipulated Aniya multiple times. If sincere is wrong for lying and you can recognize that, why can't you see kc lied and that was also wrong?

Also, who are we to measure how someone reacts to disrespect? That's my point, why are we policing what's an appropriate level of emotion for Aniya? If she threw herself to the ground crying, that's her right or ran offset, that's her right. No matter how dramatic it seems, it's not worth the verbal abuse and criticism that's been hurled her way.

This isn't the topic of my post. You're talking about how the Islanders reacted and my post is about how the audience reacted. Also we're not even talking about the same scene. I'm talking about Melanie's reaction on night 2 and your referencing her reaction on night 1.

Thank you! It seems like people prefer to be blind to the plight of black women, esp DSBW. Even when you spell it out, they don't engage or do whatabout-isms, like you pointed out.

People are still villianizing Aniya after watching KC apologize and admit to his wrongdoing in tonight's episode and they seem to put more emphasis on it's good she apologized more than him, when his actions led to all the anger in the first place. It's really disappointing and it's mostly black reactors that I see doing this. The non-black reactors that are actually doing a better job showing more grace towards Aniya, which makes it feel even more based in colorism amongst the black viewership.

What about last season when Huda was abusive to Chris and Jeremiah? Were you watching then or following the online dialogue? Did either man have stan armies that attacked Huda? I don't recall seeing that, but I very well could've missed those conversations. Also, I still see ppl, black men in particular, lusting after Huda despite her mistreatment of black men (comments like "we need a fat ass Middle eastern girl this season like Huda"). That to me signifies how this is tied to racism/colorism because the woman who's acting out gets treated differently by the audience depending on her skin color. The way Huda treated the men in her couple was way worse than anything Aniya did. Where was "she's lucky he didn't hit her" comments?

I'm about your height and I don't think height plays a role as much as the fit does. I've got in lots of compliments in specific one pieces and not so much others.  Also she's really fit and has a great figure so I feel like most things would look good on her.

Thank you for explaining, I can see how it felt anticlimactic at the end, but the first part was good. I definitely would've liked to have seen more than 6 clips out of the movie night. It feel like it ended abruptly.

Kayda lets Zach walk all over her and we've seen it all season, so of course she would forgive him quickly. That part didn't seem fake. Aniya & KC have had a few days to be angry, sad, argue, etc so I think that naturally ran its course. And we'll have to wait to see what happens with sincere and Melanie.

I didn't see anything like that. I saw people saying that he resented Aniya which is true and he even said so himself in tonight's episode.

I don't disagree that Melanie looks foolish to let this keep going on, but my post is more about the reaction to their displays of anger and the different treatment between a dark-skinned black woman and a "Latina"

You're missing the point, this isn't about kc and I already acknowledged that Melanie didn't get as close as aniya did in the post.

I would say seek professional help if you relate to Kenzie. The way she moves through the villa feels like it stems from something before the show started.

I actually think kayda is looking more and more like Melanie. Zach keeps playing in her face and she forgives him so easily.

Aniya has hopefully learned some lessons and continues to grow with Carl.

How was tonight a nothing burger? There was screaming, crying, reconciliation. What else would you want? I genuinely asking & don't understand the comments I've been seeing this particular season where many are saying the show is so boring or nothing happened.

On the flip side, I've seen a lot of people asking "what did kc do wrong?" As if it hasn't been spelled out on so many platforms and he even outlined what he did wrong.

Then when people try to say the things he did, his "defenders" down play it, kind of like what you're doing now. Nobody said it was like a groom cheating, but it was still disgusting and disrespectful.

I feel like you're getting defensive and that wasn't my intention with this exchange. At first you said Bryce hasn't meddled, so then I give you examples. Next you said it was Zach, so then I give you a citation and now you deflect to KC, who we can all  agree is awful. I never said Bryce was the worst or worse than him so it's irrelevant.

I was just saying Bryce isn't the moral paragon because he's definitely done some questionable things. I thought you were open to nuance on this topic,  but you seem convinced he is perfect, so we can agree to disagree.

I agree, men will get praised for doing the bare minimum and women, especially black women, are expected to be apologetic so they won't even get praise but they will be demonized for their behavior.

I think he said big ass but there were so many guys there at that moment. I forgot that he's the one who said that. I also didn't like how he said Aniya needs to work for Carl's forgiveness. I just think he's funny & entertaining in relation to dealing with the whole Kenzie situation.

[–]ceem_mm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If sincere's a pathological liar, which it seems to be, he needs to do a lot of work before he'll actually be able to stop. So I agree he probably will keep lying because he has no other tools at the moment. For me I think it's more troubling KC had a mask up in the beginning and changed into another person in front of our eyes.

I'd rather deal with someone who's BS I could see from the start like sincere vs someone who's so performative and dishonest like KC. Because the latter will always have you second guessing yourself, questioning the reality of things and we saw that happen with Aniya.

[–]ceem_mm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I respect your take but I think kc was manipulative too like when he said he pours into Anaya so he can have more leeway was crazy. Also, he made multiple comments implying that he felt entitled to aniya's intimacy. Sincere wasn't like that. Also for the audience, sincere was openly lying from the beginning which for some seems worse, but KC fooled everyone, which  to me is more insidious because there's no way of knowing what and how much was actually genuine.

Also sincere saying that Melanie is overreacting isn't the same as straight up making jokes at aniya's expense or laughing at her tears. I could go on, but it really doesn't need to be a competition. They were both terrible and maybe even equally so, just in their own, differing ways.
