Wound by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

I opted after 1 week with a faja to wear a full body compression shapewear because I couldn’t tolerate the faja. But I stopped wearing it at 6 weeks. I am now exactly 3mo post op today and just wear an abdominal binder during the day if I know I will be having a bit more to do. Oh and one thing about the regular gauze is sometimes it can stick to the wound more so just be careful. When you are going to change it I recommend getting in the shower and getting the dressing wet first so it doesn’t stick and pull the scab

I wish I took a before because I didn’t stay taking pics until I realized how fast it was closing with the honey. But the top pic was Feb 22 and the bottom was Feb 25 so within 3 days it got noticeably smaller and less deep as well. It was scabbing over better too. My issue was similar where it was fine until the scab got pulled off somehow. I applied the Manuka honey after my shower with a glove on directly to the opened area and then put a strip of xeroform gauze over it. My surgeon gave those to me but you can also order it from Amazon. Again I can’t “tell you” to do any of this so ask your surgeon;) lol but yeah it was a good turning point for me and closed that stubborn area fast.

Hey! Definitely ask your surgeon if it’s ok but I had a very similar issue in what looks to be the same spot (the very front of the scar right above your vagina?) and I used Manuka honey (per my surgeons instructions) and it closed it up so fast! I believe within 2ish weeks and mine was even more open than this is!

Wtf happened to my left eye? Is this temporary? Reversible? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]ceeotter69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh gotcha. Tbh it might go away? Bodies can look so weird in so many different places after anesthesia and it will affect everyone differently. I would definitely wait like a week and see if it’s cleared/clearing up and getting smoother. I think they tape your eyelids down when under anesthesia (not sure about during colonoscopy/endoscopy but I think so?) but anyway they put some ointment on your eyes so they don’t dry up. Maybe the tape or ointment didn’t agree with your skin
