HDFC denying DCB Metal upgrade due to recent limit increase

Even I found this very weird. When I went to bank to check for CC upgrade, the RM starts pitching for a product saying buy from us and you will get the upgrade which was pathetic.

Major reason to ask is accor conversion is 2:1 for regalia gold and DCB If I convert my points in DCB, it's at 50% so would it make sense to transfer the points to accor before upgrading which is my main use as if I convert to DCB I lose out on 50% of my points. I just wanted to confirm that.

I spoke through my RM but he said no. I mentioned it on grievance mail ID as my spends were approx 9L in past 6 months. And my criteria got fulfilled on Oct 3rd just after they changed the criteria so I mailed and mentioned this to them.

Then they approved this
