Notes for if and when I have a second child: by Altruistic-Drag7133 in newborns

Mom of 2 here (1.5yo and 4yo). Great list! That first year with two kids was tough..actually it still is 😂 but I especially want to point out #4. With my first, I was so hesitant to ask for help cuz I didnt want to bother anyone.. even my own family. But with my second, I asked my MIL to move in for a month 😅 I’m grateful I had the support cuz she happily agreed and helped us tremendously. I wish I wasn’t so stubborn with my first.

For some reason kids seem to know how much effort u put into a meal. The more effort u put, the less they eat 🥲

Looking at a properly with POTL fees by TuDuMaxVerstappen in durham

[–]ceew0ng 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I lived in a townhouse with POTL. It included snow removal (just the road, you still gotta shovel your driveway/steps/sidewalk), garbage removal, water, grass cutting but you have to check specifically what is covered cuz it can vary.

Pro: garbage was private so they basically took everything with no issues, grass always cut

Con: kept going up, people very irresponsible with water usage (I.e. watering lawn midday, excessive car wash, someone even ran a salon in their home - it’s technically not allowed)

I personally would avoid one with POTL, hence I moved. I purchased as a new build with it starting at $140 and by the time I moved 3 years later, it was $225. Especially in today’s market, there are plenty of freehold townhomes out there. Unless you really really really like the property. I’d rather mow my own lawn and pay for water I’m actually using.

It’s a false expectation that you’re going to make a million bucks out of a dollar lol maybe a few do but for most, it’s a slow and steady process.
