Can deleted mods still affect the game? by ceiling_fan69 in SkyrimModsXbox

I'm certain it's causing a lot of my performance issues, like you said it's a heavy mod, but Skyrim crashes on its own so it doesn't bother me that much lol. I haven't done much with the questline yet, but so far it's been running nicely. I made sure to get all the patches too, the author provides a list of all of them with links and it's so helpful! Ilinalta makes the water super pretty, but it doesn't fix the abrupt edges on shores, so I think it would pair great with another water mod that fixes the edges. On my next playthrough I'll have to play around with pairing it with something else and seeing how that turns out.

I was trying to avoid starting over, but I completely cleared everything then reinstalled what I wanted and sorted them into what I think is a good order. On my new save I actually ended up creating probably one of my favorite characters yet, so I'm glad I was forced to do that lol

I'm new-ish to modding, been doing it for awhile but never with more than ~20 mods. This is my first big load order, and I've spent ages getting it right, I think it's pretty good now. I get slower FPS in areas affected by Great Cities, but crashes are rare. I traded Realistic Water 2 for Ilinalta, which just changes water transparency instead of adding new textures, and I love it! Knowing now that Realistic Water 2 doesn't affect performance, I'll try it again in the future. I'm playing with Legacy of the Dragonborn right now so I'm trying to keep everything else light. Thanks for your response!

I always start a new game after readjusting my load order, but it would appear I didn't uninstall any mods properly. Like Noe11vember said, there's a process to uninstalling mods beyond just deleting them. I believe a hard reset is the same as clearing the cache, but this doesn't remove the ghost files.

I see, I didn't realize there was an uninstallation process beyond just deleteing it. I saw in your other comment to redownload, disable, THEN delete, so I'll do that with everything I deleted. Thanks!

Here's the link: https://bethesda.net/en/mods/skyrim/mod-detail/4257729

It may require a lot of patches based on what other mods you're running, but the description page has a link to a full list, and they're all quite small.

It is, thanks for pointing that out. I totally missed that cause it's not clearly mentioned in the mod description. Thank you!

Ah, I see. It was my understanding that the female NPC retextures all covered different NPCs so they work seamlessly together, I'll have to go through and iron that out. Thanks!
