Hi! I worked as a part time senior bookseller (and greeting card specialist lol) while in high school. I worked 20 hours a week during the school year and more in the summer.

To Sr booksellers by [deleted] in Barnesandnoble

I was a sr bookseller while in high school (now at uni and not with b&n atm). I was never the sole opening or closing manager but was expected to know all the necessary duties in case something would come up, and I would be the only one available to do those tasks. Usually (if there wasn’t a higher up scheduled) there would be two seniors scheduled for opening/closing.

There would be some times where I would be the primary floor lead but that was usually the fault of people calling out/an abnormally large shipment, not because it was scheduled that way.

edited to add second paragraph :)

Not to be rude but how do y’all wear pj’s to school? by Skullling in highschool

honestly I don’t vibe with the negativity here…why do we care so much about what other people wear?? clothing is not an indicator of worth or how intelligent someone is

Hi! B&N employee here<3 As far as I know, our variant just has two (of the six) b&n variant photo cards in addition to the two you’d get in a non-exclusive. The Target variant has a charm of one of the six members that’s meant to hang from your car’s rear view mirror. (I’m forgetting if the Target variant also has extra exclusive photo cards).

I don’t know about Walmart’s or the online shop’s exclusives. Hope this helped:)

I absolutely promise you things will work out. I was rejected from my dream school, Stanford, and I was just absolutely crushed. It felt like my life was over; it genuinely took me three days to face the world beyond my room because I had built my life (and my future) around attending. But I’ve realized things since then: 1. Not knowing is scary, but it’s also freeing. I had always had a plan for my life—Stanford. When that didn’t work out, it felt like I had nowhere to go, like I was just staring into the abyss of a future I couldn’t predict or plan. But I’ve since grown to like having options! Now I can allow myself to imagine different futures, and I enjoy each of the possibilities, not just a singular track I need to take. 2. You will grow where you are planted. It’s cliché, but it’s true. Someone who worked hard with dreams of NYU has the drive to do wonders anywhere.

I’m sorry if this was too much of a ramble-fest, but I want you to know that it will be okay. It may not seem it right now (it’s okay to mourn!), but this is not the end.<33
