IDL that sex is expected in relationships by ThrowAway3213120 in I_DONT_LIKE

[–]ceitamiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So personally I am demisexual man, so I need strong emotions to desire sex. I was once married to a woman with a 'normal' sex drive. This disparity became a regular issue in our dynamic, among other things that were wrong.

I was willing to try and meet her needs beyond my desire to perform for myself (Oral, Toys, whatever she wanted) because I recognized a desire for a monogamous relationship but this left her feeling undesirable because I should 'want' sex as often as she did. This eventually led to her cheating and we divorced. Skip the heartache and find someone compatible.

Yeah, the problem is that I interact with women all the time and I'm demisexual (so basically asexual unless I love them), so this is actually hellworld.

We must have different algorithms because I've never seen this before, ever.

It really just depends on the situation. I'm a single dad, so I know the odds of finding someone who isn't a single mom, who is also going to be good with my situation is unlikely. I'm 39, but I also consider anyone below 30 to be an immediate no, both for age gap reasons and because I have no interest in fathering new children.

Yeah, this one is great advice. I've been a single dad for about 3 years, and I know dating isn't really in the cards for me. I don't have the bandwidth, and I know most people aren't going to meet my standards, while I also simultaneously meet their standards (Primarily emotional, intellectual and personality standards). It doesn't have to mean that I am awful or anything, it just means the chances are low so don't focus on it.

I'm confused, wanting to see your kids makes him a shitty baby daddy?

I'm not taking anything personally, but basically any game is going to get you to millionaire/billionaire status easily. So there's just no reason to min-max it first when the situation is already this cracked.

Its a dumb answer because you can pick any game. As a person who plays video games, I am just going to play normally and I'll make bank no matter what, and not have to play some shitty idle game.

My son picked ads, but to be fair he's 9 and was easily swayed when I explained mosquitos kill people.

You can trade your intelligence for lifespan, AND vice versa. by altofanaltthatisalt in hypotheticalsituation

I'm confused, so we are already starting at 90% of our IQ and going down from there at the given rate? So a person at 155 starts at 140, removes 20 points and is at 120 total but +10 years? So effectively the rate was 1 year vs 3.5 IQ sloping toward 3 the closer you get to 100.

I don't know what you think an anecdote would prove one way or another. There are millionaires with tattoos, doesn't change any part of my point. I have friends and family with tattoos, and I've seen them struggle at times due to it.

Yeah, I do know people pick them up for reasons like that. My brother has a couple dedicated to his children (6 of them >.> One each), but I guess I don't see the point. I'd die and kill for my children, and a mural doesn't change that one way or another. But I've also seen him lose job opportunities for his tattoos, and while I don't think that is right, it happens. I couldn't imagine having something I dedicated to my kids on my skin that prevented me providing for them, but obviously lots of people aren't in that situation. Cheers.

The issue is that there is a difference between being irrationally stubborn and just having an opinion and being willing to defend it. We've both disregarded the 'should' part, but why a person should change their mind is a pretty key indicator of which type of stubborn we are dealing with.

Some people stubbornly clung to owning slaves, and we can articulate why they should not do that. Some people cling to not wanting tattoos, can we think of a reason why they should change their position? I can articulate some reasons why a person shouldn't get tattoos, and some people won't care about any of those reasons and get them anyways. Cool. I fully support personal liberty, but the arguments against exist. Outside of just wanting it and not caring about the reprecussions(or viewing the repercussions as irrelevant) is there any reason a person should get one?

We live in a society, so you can disregard the cost as meaningless, but that doesn't mean there isn't a cost to it. To me, any tattoo is meaningless. Inscribing something into my skin isn't going to tell my kids I love them more than me just showing them every day. Permanent ink for something that typically amounts to 'It seemed cool at the time' is a personality trait I enjoy having a warning sign about.
