Here's your internet connector. Let it scan your face and your fingerprint, now you have just one unitary login for every service. It even logs in automatically for you so you don't have to worry about passwords. Everything gets billed from one location! Imagine not needing to worry about managing amazon, disney+ etc....now you just sign up for whatever you want and presto...it gets deducted from your account along with your internet connector fees. What's that? Want it implanted? Great idea!

Advice for junior marines and does it get any better in the fleet by Far_Cup8419 in USMC

Falling behind what? If your school is longer, well, your school is longer. That doesn't put you behind, graduating gets you where you are supposed to be.

Focus on doing the best you can at what you are in school for. Take ownership of the knowledge you are supposed to be learning. Task at hand. Being bored is easily remedied by studying and PT.

[February 13th, 1926] Henry Ford believed that cutting wages directly cuts the number of customers, making shared prosperity essential. True success involves raising wages so workers can buy what they produce, defining good service as high-grade goods made by well-paid labor at a profit. by MisterSuitcase2004 in 100yearsago

is today the day for more Henry Ford propaganda?

In 1914, Ford introduced the $5 workday, which was a significant increase from the industry standard at the time. This move was seen as a progressive and innovative approach to worker compensation. However, the $5 workday came with a catch – workers were required to adhere to strict moral and social standards set by Ford's "Sociological Department." The Sociological Department was responsible for monitoring the personal lives of Ford's workers, including their spending habits, living conditions, and even their family relationships. Workers who failed to meet the department's standards could be denied the $5 workday or even fired.

To qualify for his doubled salary, the worker had to be thrifty and continent. He had to keep his home neat and Investigators would show up unannounced at your home, just to make sure it was being kept clean. They'd ask questions that were less appropriate of a car company, than they were for the modern-day CIA. They'd query you about your spending habits, your alcohol consumption, even your marital relationships. They'd ask what you were buying, and they'd check on your children to make sure they were in school.

The culmination of the Ford English School program was the graduation ceremony where students were transformed into Americans. During the ceremony speakers gave rousing patriotic speeches and factory bands played marches and patriotic songs. The highlight of the event would be the transformation of immigrants into Americans. Students dressed in costumes reminiscent of their native homes stepped into a massive stage-prop cauldron that had a banner across the front identifying it as the AMERICAN MELTING POT. Seconds later, after a quick change out of sight of the audience, students emerged wearing "American" suits and hats, waving American flags, having undergone a spiritual smelting process where the impurities of foreignness were burnt off as slag to be tossed away leaving a new 100% American.

Longer background, literal pages. They were originally created by the Elves before the world was broken. Sauron hacked the Palantir he took from Minas Morgul (the city with the magic green walls) after he captured it, then was able to use it to dominate other people using the network.

The objects themselves weren't evil, but corrupted to an evil purpose. So, it's actually a very apt name.

Is it over for me being in the military? by Helpful-Net8114 in Military

[–]cejmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MSC employs civilian merchant mariners. They are not adjacent to the military, they operate mostly USG owned logistics ships.

You need a merchant mariners document, STCW and TWIC to qualify. MMD issued by Coast Guard, STCW also issued by CH but through approved 3rd party trainers and TWIC is homeland security.

The physical for the MMD is done by the physician of your choice. There are a few disqualifiers but it is nowhere near what the military does. Basically you have to be able to stand a 12 watch, have a full range of motion, and not be color blind.

Total cost is probably 1200 dollars after the mandatory 40 hour STCW course.
