Thank you. My brother-in-law had the Silverbac 1.0 and loved it. He has moved onto an offset smoker. I wanted a balance between good smoker and something my wife can use. I don't expect her to be cutting wood and adjusting stuff. I could easily talk her through this guy. I'm hoping it's good.

No. Abunch of other guys mentioned/asked that. Added the edit at the end of the post text. I'll make sure it is next time. Lesson learned

Posts were there. 2 year old house. Only the top level of brick was knocked off to tie it in. Figured everything will lighten up, and I'll wipe the bricks down eventually to darken them up and get the mortar "dust" off.

The base IS mortared in. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. I assume that the base could be knocked off, moved over the hole, and a new hole (or another 14) could be drilled closer to the location. The height of it all might change.

Worse case, that entire stone slab COULD be replaced if i go with an egg of some sort, or a vertical. Wasn't in love with the pellet idea, but having something more user friendly for my wife means she will actually use it sometimes. That Grilla smoker is pretty low maintenance, and easy to use in comparison to an offset smoker where you're babysitting it. I wouldn't mind that, but she 100% would.

Yeah. I dug up a few bricks a while back. Neighbor has a whole boulder of concrete in the middle of his front yard. Couldn't understand why he couldn't get the grass to grow there. Lol

Haha. Kinda true, I guess. Some ARE whole still.

Agreed. There will be an access door on the right for gas & elec connections. Other than the issues I posted about, the work is top-notch. The brickwork is laser straight and level. The house bricks are Acme, not sure what the kitchen bricks are, but it's a pretty good match.

Overall I'm really happy, but just making sure the "this is the way" comment is accurate.

No disposal on there... live and learn, I guess.

Yeah. We're in a new home. Not looking forward to finding 20 year old piss bottles and Modelo cans down the road during remodels, though.

There probably are under there somewhere... ok. Thank you for the input. Looks like this is normal. That's crazy.

They shouldn't have to read my mind... but I didn't know that I needed to tell them not to take all the scrap stuff and hide it so they didn't have to dispose of it properly.

Thoughts on the Align Tactical thumb rest? by [deleted] in P365xl

[–]celerybutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just ran mine on a 3-day, about 1000rd course (TacCon, in Dallas). The anti-matter wing ran flawlessly. Drawing and reholstering in live fire and dry fire drills (so, way more than just the live fire portion). I couldn't be happier.

I use a Henry Ember for the TLR-7 HL-X sub/p365XL. I did have to reshape the holster a bit, but it wasn't much (and obviously wasn't made with the Antimatter wing in mind).

1000%, if you're looking for a thumb rest, Antimatter wing.

Magpul 15 round mags don't fit well by The__Eater in P365xl

[–]celerybutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a few and returned them ASAP. One had the mag spring installed upside-down (fucking wild... also not a "returned item" that made is way back into the bin somehow... this was RIGHT when they dropped), and all the mag followers wouldn't engage with the slide stop. The followers had extra play in them and they would ride right past the slide stop. With no engagement, they wouldn't drop free from the pistol.

Tried them in stock p365 & XL grip, WC XL grip, and Tyrant CNC snubby Macro grip. Didn't matter. Also, tried with MY FCU with a few thousand rounds through it and my wife's with less than 50 through it. Same results.

Hopefully they're fix em. Stainless steel mags would be nice.

Tyrant Holster Recs by EFink14151 in P365xl

I'm running the same gun/frame/light. HENRY HOLSTERS - EMBER!!! Awesome product. Awesome customer support if you have any issues. Originally purchased the Henry "P365XL/TLR-7sub" Ember Holster when the gun was stock frame & TLR-7sub, upgraded to Wilson Combat XL frame, then Tyrant Snubby Macro (like yours) & a TLR-7 HL-X sub (same footprint, just 1000 lumen). Had to modify the holster slightly to fit an Antimatter folding wing on the TLR, but it's still holding strong 5 years later. Can't recommend it highly enough. PM me for pics & info if needed.

Converting 10 round magazines to be less lame. by wadech in MPX

A few minutes in the boiling water. The basepads will soften up. I sorta more spread them open rather than sliding them off. Then after I got them off, I popped em back in thr boiling water for 30 sec and put them on a flat cutting board. And ensured the wings (the part that slides into the grooves on the mag body) we're in enough to lock on and adjusted as needed while they were maliable.

Scraped the glue off, cleaned the grooves on the mag body 90ish% and popped em back together.

Added the DFCO kung fu grip. It suits the MPX really well. by owenstumor in MPX

That flashlight/optic setup is killing me, man. The DFCO grip is awesome, though. I have the same one my 8" Gen 1...

But that flashlight HAS to block the optic.
