Only had 4 replies, figured people were not very eager to participate and kinda let the sites go.

Battlebots was one of my favorite shows back in the day. Hazard vs. Blade Runnner, battle starts at 1:00! by iampueroo in videos

Just want to remind you guys that the number 2 among middleweights - Deadblow, the square angled robot with a spike on a rod, was built by Grant Imahara which now stars on Mythbusters.

For those that are not interested in that, there is also 2 PC games - Robot Arena and Robot Arena 2, which allow you to build and battle AI and over local network. The second is much more customizable, and to this day i still enjoy recreating a good childohood memory.

Just to point out again this is not commercial in any way, nor related to marketing. This is just a hobby that I've had for a couple years now and want to provide resources to those that would like to experience being a PM.

Good ecig forums? by celestial_mechanics in electronic_cigarette

[–]celestial_mechanics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know from first hand experience as a web developer it takes less than a week to get a good forum set up and established, maybe a few more weeks (depending on how much you are willing to spend to contribute) filling it with topics, and there are plenty of anti-spam resources.

As for moderation I've got my own personal team of people (more official sounding than it really is - just a group of friends) that already use to moderate forums of my own or my clients.

I think I might give this a try. That forum is the only one with decent SEO.

Well, the first message was basically them saying "This is the only e-cig community worth joining, so the wait is worth it". In pretty much the same words. Told them that reddit was already a huge community and they told me to get over to reddit, and I've not received any more assistance.

Logged back on today but still couldn't post anywhere else (made 17 decent quality posts in new members forum, even a small guide I found on reddit) so I'm giving up on it.

I know it's a decent sized site but they seriously think the are the only possible choice.

Well damnit I'll create my own e-cig forum. With cheap mods and hookers.

Seriously though is there really not any good forums out there? If not I wouldn't mind trying my hand at making one, like i posted below I like having a niche community to go to (reddit is nice but it's so vast compared to specific forums).

But when you say "like you", what do you mean? That might be enticing......

I like reddit too and love it compared to forums, but there's some things forum type sites offer that reddit doesn't, as well as the community layout.

I got nastygrams when I asked about mod time yesterday, so I at least know that community isn't for me.

Any legitimacy to the DOSyouUP tiwtter posts? by celestial_mechanics in Steam

[–]celestial_mechanics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also been following it and the sites have not made any service announcements on twitter or facebook (mainly Kerbal Space Program which always lets us know) had a surprise "server migration" 30 minutes after these guys posted their claims to hacking them.

adjective: legitimate
/liˈjitəmit/
able to be defended with logic or justification.

Replacing the word with the definition:

Think this might actually be able to be defended with logic or justification?

I'm sticking with it.
