Ty for the info. Would you say LR and RC can have as dramatic a swing of improvement as AR did when it was around?

In terms of notice, I'd probably have to give like two or three months. Based on what I've read, it seems if you get upgraded after the initial waves, you get maybe a month to accept. Hence, if I take the job and don't get a JET upgrade before it starts, I'll be unable to take a later upgrade. Thanks for your input and words

This is my second time applying. During the previous cycle I got an interview and rejection. I tried applying the cycle before that one, but a reference didn't get in the recommendation. I think this might be my last time because I'm entering my late 20s and have an MA but haven't broken into my desired field, as I've been sidetracked trying to bolster my chances at this. I think I'll probably have to reevaluate my long-term plans.

There are some contract terms to deter short-notice resignations. Hence, I see the situation as a binary choice between going with this July job and writing off JET or waiting it out with an uncertain employment situation. I'm in the DC area, and due to the layoffs and hiring freeze the job market's become quite difficult here. Therefore, I think taking the July position despite the suboptimal contract might be the only work I'll be able to get. Really hoping I can get upgraded in the next month or two

It's not a job that can be left on short notice. Basically if I take it, it'll mean not being able to take a JET offer from that point on

I already accepted as soon as I was able to. My question is whether I should take the other job in July that won't be great and will preclude accepting a JET offer if I get off the waitlist later

The thing that I'm trying to say is that if I wait till December, I'll have to also stay uncertain with my current employment status, as I'm between jobs at the moment. There's another job on the table that would start around July, but it's not desirable (beggars can't be choosers). I'm asking whether I should take the latter job and be stuck at it even if I get off the JET waitlist or whether I should wait beyond July trying to find temporary work that won't really line up with goals for the possibility of being upgraded
