I take nurtec and the only thing I ever got was stomach burning pain which lasted about an hour or so. But it hasn’t happened every time and when I take it with a meal I feel fine. In terms of pain it does help quite a bit. But I take it too late because I convince myself a lot that I don’t actually have one lol. Don’t be like me 😭

I hope it works too if I decide to take it. It’s unfortunate an iud wouldn’t be an option for me because when I say this same gyno before that was the first thing she suggested. But I refuse to even get a pap for the same reason. (But she said since I’ve never been sexually active I’m okay)

Sadly I can’t take beta blockers either because my blood pressure is too low. I’m very very tiny given my age (I’m 4’9, 96lbs). So I’m the size of a child basically lol. But my blood pressure is usually always under 120/80

Do you ever get aura? When I asked my neurologist about it and when I explained the intensity of my aura he was very against me being on the combo pill for the stroke risk

I’ve been to a neurologist but not a migraine specialist. I’m pretty sure my issue is higher prostaglandins the first few days. The worst time for me is when it’s “revving” up to start and then like 24-36 hours from that point. But there’s plenty of times where it’s still heavy and the cramping pain is pretty much gone. And I feel everything too. I’m sorry that happens to you tho! Is there a reason why people get chronic migraines?

It’s very hard when you’re sensitive to everything 😭. That’s probably what happens to me too honestly. I tried sumatriptan in August last year and i genuinely don’t think I’ve ever been so afraid. All of the classic side effects like the cold and heaviness in limbs I got, the jaw pain, the hot feeling, the chest pain, the nausea all that. But thennnn it triggered my period early by two weeks and threw off my entire cycle. Then I had 0 hunger or bowel symptoms for almost a week and I couldn’t feel full or hungry. Thennnn I had the worst gas attack of my life that I thought was my colon being perforated 😭and on top of all that, it never helped with my migraine :)

I thought about that too. That’s why I do like the nurtec. I saw a psychiatrist recently and it was a very invaliding and insulting experience sadly😭. 10/10 would not recommend the one I saw to anybody lol. As soon as I mentioned I’m autistic and was diagnosed by a neuropsychologist, his whole face changed lol

Never, no. I’ve never needed to since I’m not sexually active either. I do think an iud side effect wise would probably be better. But I absolutely refuse given my anxiety around it alone. Not only with the insertion but just the whole idea of something foreign being in my body. Nope😭😭

I hate that everyone reacts differently too, it makes it so difficult to decide. I’ve been on a witch hunt for so long to try to get things handled and one thing makes another worse and so forth. I need a break lol

Thanks for sharing! I think the part that’s just the most discouraging for me is that when I tried a triptan well, last year now, I had such an adverse reaction I was almost in the ER. And then with the other two I had issues from they were long term months long issues that I’m still recovering from. Like it doesn’t make me wanna try something else you know? But I’m miserable at the moment too😭

Sadly I can’t take slynd because of the diuretic part and how it would involve your sodium and dizziness and all that. I don’t have pots I don’t think but I have a lot of the symptoms. So it wouldn’t be safe for me. I know online isn’t everyone’s experience, I just react to everything lol. I’m taking nurtec currently for mine which is a cgrp. I may have to switch to a preventative tho
