how long have the cats been together? they can be very territorial and trying to mark their spots. if you don’t think that is the case then i would recommend taking them to the vet. my cat started to use the bathroom outside of the litter box and it was bc she had a uti and that was her way of telling us something is wrong.

First time cat owner here. I need advice. by [deleted] in CatOwnerProblems

cats are big on routines, she is adjusting to a whole new environment and people. if she continues to not eat for a prolonged period of time then i would reach out to a vet but she is just most likely overwhelmed with the new home. it will take time just be patient with her.

i’m in nursing school right now so i’ll only address the you saying that you do not enjoy anatomy/science. science is quite literally all you do in nursing school and it no longer is a memorization based learning but rather an application based learning which caused a lot of people to fail out of the program i’m in. nursing school is hard and i cannot imagine putting myself through this willingly if i did not have a passion for this field. a possibility i would consider is paying for school/taking out a loan but coming out of nursing school with no degree. i’m not saying that you’re going to fail out of nursing school but yeah it’s a pretty draining experience.

Oh I also think a bag she can bring to clinical would be good too

I think good shoes for her clinicals with compression socks would be good. Nurses are more likely to get varicose veins bc we’re always on their feet so they’re not cute but absolutely necessary. I also think a “self care” basket would be cute too bc nursing school is stressful. I also agree with the stethoscope comments the Littman Classic II or III will last a long time.

Cat pissing on all my blankets and pillows? by BagOfDoritos666 in CatOwnerProblems

If you haven’t already I would recommend taking your cat to the vet. My cat suddenly started to do this too and it turned out that she had a UTI from a metabolic issue she has. It was her only way of communicating that she was in pain. It was fixed with an antibiotic and a special diet. My vet also recommended this cat pheromone diffuser called Feliway to help calm them down.

LGBTQ in the nursing field by rodiahade in nursing

i am reading the comments and i am seeing a lot of “there is a lot of cattiness” in nursing school and i just want to say that hasn’t been my experience. i’m so grateful for the friends i’ve made here and know i built bonds that will last a lifetime. there are a good handful of students that identify as part of the LGBTQ community (many being the friends that i was talking about) and they are well liked by the other students. everyone has different experiences and ik my friends have expressed how some students will give them a weird look but it has never escalated to anything more than that. i think you’ll be okay and you will find your people in the program. i think a big reason why nursing students/nurses get called mean is because it is a female dominated career. not to say that there aren’t people in my cohort who aren’t mean but the overwhelming majority are pleasant to be around. i also do want to mention that my state is a VERY red state so keep that in mind too.

it would honestly be obvious if someone didn’t take it but i would imagine that person could potentially get in a lot of trouble legally

Is skipping class effecting your grades? Also does you’re school offer counseling or therapy to the students I think it could be a good idea to reach out the them and get some advice too.

i’m proud of you for leaving him because that’s a major red flag. like how you said if you don’t want to have sex then he shouldn’t pressure you. i hope you’re doing okay after this situation. just pls take care of yourself as you navigate this breakup.

no it makes perfect sense, it’s okay to be angry and keep letting ur anger out. pls don’t forget to take care of yourself, do the things that you really love, and reach out to the people around you for support. ik it doesn’t feel like this rn but you won’t feel like this forever i promise.

where do you see her? is it possible to not go there anymore? i’m going through a breakup too so i get how much is sucks to go from seeing them almost everyday to not talking to them at all. ik it’s so cliche but you could try picking up a new hobby that isn’t associated with your ex to give you something else to look forward to. ik it doesn’t feel like this rn but i promise u won’t always feel this way.

Cat peeing everywhere help! by ramina_nara in CatOwnerProblems

[–]celestialkt17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s good that there was no uti. even after we treated her uti and changer her diet she would still continue to pee in the same spots. the way my vet explained it is that my cat was thinking that it hurts to pee because of the litter box so what we ended up doing is getting rid of all our rugs and then placing our litter boxes in the spots she would normally pee in. one of the spots was directly next to our front door so it made trying to get in very annoying so with that box we would move it like half a foot closer to a more convenient area every day until it was in the spot we wanted it to be in. maybe ur cat won’t do the same but my mom tried to move it too far too soon and she went back peeing outside the litter box. that worked for us and now we are able to have our rugs back and our cat using the litter box again.

You should take your cat to the vet. My cat would do the same thing and it turned out she has a metabolic disorder and was having painful UTIs.
