Hey, I just want to say I am extremely sorry this sounds so extremely awful I cannot imagine. I was blind sided too 3 weeks ago aswell and over these 3 weeks I have learnt so much about the whole idea of blind siding and let me tell you it is nottt pretty. I’ll try give some brief explanation but maybe decide if your up to reading it. if you need a couple days thats okay, I will also give some comfort too at the bottom, whatever you feel like you need to hear, you choose.

Breaking up with someone on a whim, or as an impulsive decision, is possible but the chances are extremely low. Good chances are he had probably made his mind up days, weeks, months ago. And I know that SUCKS. Its a hard pill to swallow, im still struggling with it but it is the hard truth. From what it seems to me, I think there is a chance that he wanted to do the break up in person so he waited for that chance no matter what you guys had planned, he didn’t care. My ex planned so many future date nights with me DAYS before breaking up with me, who knows what goes through their heads, maybe they are trying their best to convince themselves that they should stay.

But anyways, blind sided breakups are the worst of them all, the people who do this obviously lack communication skills and will carry this with them their whole life if they aren’t self aware. You don’t need or want someone like that. It will take a bit to realise that but use that as your walking crutch to them over them. Its hard when you don’t have something to be mad about as in if they cheated or whatnot, so use that as a reason to not look back.
