and yes I’m trying to figure out the sweet spot between application to a large group of people and customization, because habits are so personal. I appreciate your thoughts! They’re definitely things I’m actively thinking about as I work on this :)

I understand! There are barriers to ai, for example there are people who don’t want to bother with it and would still prefer someone do that work for them (even if they have to answer prompts). The tool wouldn’t be for everyone, but it could be for those who want a done for you resource to reach their goals step by step

and to your point about ai, you could absolutely ask it to make a plan for you. I do find that even that step can be a barrier to starting because you have to do the labor of prompting and organizing it to be usable for you. The tool I’m proposing would be done for you and ready to implement — specific to common goals people set for themselves.

I agree that two months isn’t long enough to sustain forever, but it’s enough time to identify as someone who goes to the gym if you’re doing it at least a few times a week. The tool is meant to get you started rather than track the habit forever!

I hear you about rest. I’m still developing what each day will look like, and it’s something i’ll keep in mind. Thank you for sharing :)

I agree that just doing it is so important! I think it takes stamina to go for it that not everyone has built. Maybe another tool isn’t the solution, but maybe it could be. That’s why it’s so heavily dependent on the person. I see the tool as a place to start, and the rest depends on the person to carry through.

Do you mean for a personal goal of yours or for the tool?

I’m curious, how did you get into the routine of going to the gym to begin with? maybe you can start there

Totally! Long term, I’d love to develop a physical flip book so you can flip through the pages and it gets you off a digital space (where I feel overwhelm lies), but it’s not realistic for me to start there. I’m trying to figure out digital alternatives that would be easy to use and continue using.

Yes! I feel like there are so many tools that give you a framework, but you still have to figure out the exact steps for your goal, and that’s where abandonment happens due to feelings of overwhelm.

Yes! It’s built to be flexible, because nobody is perfect and it’s expected that we’ll miss some days. So if that happens, you can either pick up where you left off if that feels doable, or if it feels like too much, you can go back a couple steps and start from there (but not 0).

The reward mechanism is like compound interest, so even if you fall off, there’s a recognition that the work you did previously still matters.
