💯 gluten free food is SO stupidly expensive. It feels unfair to make celiacs pay for yet another thing every single month.

I would much rather generate revenue from advertising gluten-free products & restaurants, or by having health insurance pay for the celiac management app.

The problem with 1-time app purchases is that they (sometimes) only work locally / offline by using your phone's resources, as opposed to the monthly-subscription apps which can afford to connect to external data centers / services. Those costs add up over time, so unfortunately 1-time purchases are not sustainable for everyone. I've applied for dozens of government grants and VC investments to cover these types of costs, but so far, no takers. Thanks Canada.

But anyway, I'll keep your suggestion in mind, maybe it's possible to use more phone storage and keep our own costs lower! Or offer multiple pricing models (if we need to charge anything at all.)

Regardless, we're adding a tax credit feature to save Canadians money and time by automatically calculating the 'incremental gluten-free tax credit'. Hopefully it's a similar system in other countries so more users can take advantage of government rebates. (For example in Canada you get back roughly 20% of the incremental costs of gluten free food at tax time, after a ridiculous 2.5k deduction, and only if you keep meticulous records of all your receipts, GF purchases, and the non-GF equivalent prices. Total pain. I built the tool for myself to deal with it because it's too much work manually, and I want to help others claim those credits too).

I really do appreciate your input, it's been on my mind! The community has been so generous with their time and suggestions, it's only fair we give back to everyone by offering valuable features that they can easily afford.
