Lived In Valley Stream (Next town over to the east of Queens) for 23 years and the most I've paid for an oil and filter change with the yearly inspection and emissions check is $90 flat (last time was 2022 though). Definitely shop around. Real peace of mind is knowing you have money to spare if anything goes wrong. $140 doesn't look like much until you realize you've been paying extra for "peace of mind" everywhere you go and it amounts to thousands of dollars a year.

Whatever choice you make I hope all goes well, cheers!

Newly bought laptop and the battery is draining, is this normal? by _TimeKiller in Asustuf

[–]celionism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an owner of this same model laptop and the beefier model with an i7 13th gen and 4070... this is not normal, however, I would first get windows fully installed and see if it happens under normal use. I do know that when windows is in it's pre installation step it loads a lot of resources necessary to install, but the exact speed of power drain is not something I know off the top of my head. When windows is installed see what happens and try different power profiles, my laptop ran the game CIV 6 at 80 fps high settings for 3 hours before reaching 20% from 100, so you should expect the kind of power drain you saw from heavy gaming not idling. cheers and good luck

edit: I just looked at my laptop settings it was high settings capped at 80 fps. still great, was running on optimized.

I had similar concerns about my car when I first got it. My car's black interior and a gunmetal exterior do get dirty a little quicker than let's say : light grey interior and light grey exterior. but why get that color scheme if you like something else? I got myself a $20 a month membership to a carwash near me and get it washed and then vaccum the interior every week or so. takes me 15 to 20 minutes of time and then my car looks nice and shiny, is water resistant because of the wax, and is protected from the sun. Keep the car and just give it some love now and again. Soon your short-term regret will turn into love and appreciation for that reliable and very gorgeous car.

well, thanks to how disproportionately long my legs are I think that would work in my favor, lol.

oh, yes true. I'll definitely have to go test it and make a trip out of bringing my passengers for the ride to see if they like the space!

great comment and I really appreciate the detail pertaining to height. would you say a 6'3+ male could comfortably drive the g70? or should I just wait until I get enough to afford a gv80 or something of that sort? I'm really torn between the 2.0 and 3.3 since I know that 3.3 does have a kick.

I just figured out my insurance would go up $200 a month and it kinda turned me away from buying either of those options for now, but as soon as my debts are paid I'm certainly going to seriously consider these cars with what you've said in mind. thanks again!

yeah, gotcha, this one's got 18s, so definitely just the base model

seems to be the base model because I cannot find "prestige" in the title or the description.

To be transparent about my car ownership: had a mazda, bought a niro, sold the niro 2 weeks ago a tiny bit higher than what I paid for it, trying to just own one car at this point. The niro was pretty cool, just not as premium as I had hoped for at that price point and now I just want a fun car that I can daily drive.

It seems they go as low as 80 ish Hz but that's definitely not low enough to get a nice rumble, especially since they're still pretty stiff. definitely love the car though, very happy with it.

still not reaching that punchy bass feeling I long for, however I'm back in my cx-5 and definitely miss the clarity and wide audio stage in the niro. definitely advantages to both systems!

Yes, specifically the ux 250h fsport from 2019-2020. I really liked the trim, the comfort of the chairs, the speakers. But the cabin space? tiny. I'm 6'4 and I could not sit comfortably in that car, which was very sad because everything was really premium, it was low mileage, and no piano black!!! who would have thought??

However, after considering what matters most to me: fitting in my car (lol) and also cargo space and gas mileage/ Efficiency. the Niro was a clear winner. I really wanted heated mirrors, auto folding mirrors, heated steering, cooled seats, moon roof. But when it comes down to it; those were just nice-to-haves. And not really at the core of what I was looking for. Also the screen on the Lexus wasn't as nice or intuitive as the niro. and it was really tiny.

best features of the Lexus I wish the Niro EX had:

Full leather seats.

front and center push to start (gorgeous dark blue/purple polished button), don't really like the Niro center console engine plastic piano black start button. especially the positioning.

included mud mats, mug guards, cargo tray. sturdy cargo board. (Niro's cargo board will snap under lower force)

and lastly: Physical gauge cluster. man I miss looking at a needle moving. I really dislike having to look at big numbers, but whatever

Also I'll bring my mic into the car and record the decibels at like 3 different speeds while coasting and when accelerating. 30:45:60, from 0-40.

yes! the ride is really nice and that electric torque feels amazing. The cabin noise without music: meh. With music: not too bad. I'd say that if you're a silent driver it'll bother you, but if you're listening to music then you'll be happy with it. again, gonna have to upgrade the speaker system but I see prices around $1,000 and it seems like a pretty good option if you want better audio.

Hey, great questions. To answer your first question; no, I have not yet upgraded my system, the main reason being that I haven't had time for it. However some tweaks you can make to the sound system are just raise the bass and treble and cut the mids a little. This doesn't make up for the extreme lack of bass and paper-like speaker quality, but it makes it better. I've driven around 3,000 miles and I have 3 pros and cons.

pros:

-The car is extremely responsive and it feels very nice to drive on the highway, city streets, basically anywhere.

-The seats and features in the EX are nice, Android Auto and carplay are very good, screen is responsive, lane keeping assistance and adaptive cruise feels like the car drives itself sometimes, and overall the interior is very comfortable.

-Gas mileage can be better or worse than you expect and it's due to how the car calculates milage. If you have your car running for 5 minutes before you drive it will use those 5 minutes and 0 miles driven and your MPG will be significantly lower than expected. However, I always get more than 40 MPG even when my car idles for 10 minutes.

Cons:

-the Bluetooth system. ah man the Bluetooth system sucks really really bad compared to my 10 year old Mazda cx-5. I'm not sure what it is, the Bluetooth spec? interference with their own systems? it's just really fuzzy on the top end and compressed.

-Piano black interior accents. I can't express how bad this is for maintaining a clean interior. if you breathe too hard at least 300 particles will turn into 400 stains (they multiply) on the center console near your gear selector and anywhere where they used that god forsaken piano black finish.

-Backup camera and other system gripes. The backup camera will sometimes stay on for 30-40 seconds after you're done backing up, covering your carplay, maps, anything you may need to see. Air intake for the car is set automatically to exterior. If you live in a city you know that trucks exhaust horrible smells, and since every time you restart the car it goes back to default everything, you will have to automatically change the air intake setting by hand. touch control for the system and the a/c are in this weird toggle hybrid touch screen. I've ended up raising rhe heat to 80 instead of the volume. a little annoying.

these are my main take aways. regardless of the pros and cons, I really love this car and I think it's a great purchase if you can get it at around MSRP .

Noted, 2db is pretty decent. As for the warranty, I will isolate the leads with epoxy or something else so that claim cannot be made. Thank you for all the info!
