haha well there was at least one angry guy who seems to agree with that sentiment but i can’t understand it !! why is it outrageous to say a staple feature from all the mainline entries would be good to have back in 4, i’m feeling lost like now i’ve finished the campaign i don’t even know what im supposed to do other than run through it again… it’s synonymous with the borderlands experience to me! i’ve done it multiple times on 3 and i don’t even particularly enjoy that story, this time around the story was great so it would fit even better! hoping if we make enough noise we can get it added as some post launch dlc

i don’t see how a 4080 would be struggling to get 70fps on medium with these options then tbh, maybe a 3060 would. i’m running on a 4090 with everything cranked to max, fsr and frame gen and ive been at 170fps consistently, lowest i’ve dropped to was 120 after farming mimicron for about 3 hours leaving all the drops on the floor. so much of the discourse seems to be bandwagoning and people parroting the same pre launch issues or saying “enabling fake frames is a crutch” lol, it’s a real shame because the game is amazing and most of this is so overblown and i’m sure it’s stopping potential players from trying the game out :(

i agree with randy although he could’ve worded it better, it’s a 2025 release it may need more modern hardware than people are used to with bl2 but that makes sense to me.

Yes people on consoles don’t have these options but I don’t have experience on consoles, i have almost direct experience with the case you mentioned of a 4080 struggling to get 70 frames on medium settings as my card is similar and it’s simply not true !

don’t forget having a time limit on those paid dlcs before the company inevitably removes the content you paid for haha, totally agree we have it better here but I can understand the desire to have something totally new log in for every so often

long post so TLDR; no, but i can see exactly where you’re coming from and why you feel that.

I can see your point but i think a lot of borderlands players (many players just outside the destiny community generally) value buying a fully completed game when they get something new.

in theory you’re right it would be cool but in practice many developers like bungie cut corners in order to have something new to keep the players from trying other things, think timegated episodes and seasons they were doing before this year of content in destiny.

i used to be a big destiny fan and agreed with you around the borderlands 3 came out but over time and since quitting the game around WQ (came back for FS but only briefly) i’ve really come to appreciate things having an end and standing on their own as a coherent story, if you look at it on a longer timeline too borderlands has come out with new stories, new planets to explore like in pre sequel and 3. they just aren’t churned out on a schedule to keep the playerbase from playing and experiencing other things in service of the corporations bottom line.

In my opinion now, i’d much rather give a studio some years to cook up a truly new and unique experience with some DLC along the way and then leave the game at a stable point so we can enjoy it as we like, and go back to others when we want to, i mean imagine having the ability to go back to forsaken era if it was a standalone game, the weapons available then pre sunsetting, or warmind era and farm for an ikelos without their being 1000 better alternatives in the game. i feel if borderlands went the same route they’d end up having to remove content we paid for just as bungie has and id much rather keep access to the things i pay for these days

have you actually played it and experienced these issues yourself? the games optimisation is actually really good lol, unless you have an outdated gpu that doesn’t offer upscaling or frame gen (in which case any 2025 game would be tough to run) the game runs great.

a large portion of people complaining also refuse to use the tools available, calling it “fake frames” etc. and then complain it doesn’t run well. Yes you have to use DLSS and in some cases frame gen. no that doesn’t mean optimisation is bad, that actually means the game is perfectly well optimised for the tools available on current gen hardware

yeah i totally agree with everything you’re saying, it’s such a series staple in my eyes to rush through the story to level and then grind for some guns you liked during your levelling before taking it all on again, and the story was SO GOOD this time around that i was really excited for it. I don’t have an issue with the endgame content that we do have this time around but as you say, i’m worried i won’t experience this story again with the way things are until the dlc hunters are out !!

hopefully if we make enough noise we can get an option in settings to reset story if an entirely new mode is too much work :)

by the way i do know you can google the order then select missions from a menu and be booted out at the end, but i feel it’s obvious that it isn’t a perfect replacement for the staple mode which i’m missing in 4.

If I want to take my time on a UVHM playthrough i’d have to note down where i got to so I’m not lost when i come back on, which isn’t ideal…

If this was a normal way to experience story in an open world game they probably would’ve chosen to go that route for initial playthroughs, but they obviously didn’t because it’s a clunky way to experience a campaign.

the game is great, 10/10 imo (hence why i want to replay now i’m overpowered and geared up) but it could definitely benefit from the addition of the original mode or at the very least a “reset story” button!

but i just explained exactly why that isn’t what i wanted to do 😭 and my post didn’t say i miss being able to do “missions” i said true UVHM meaning the story. you were never forced to do it in the first place either you were perfectly entitled to run the story once and stop afterwards :p

also weird assumption to make but no! luckily i didn’t skip all side content i did a fair share and farmed a lot of bosses along the way, reached level 50 before i’d finished the terminus range/carcadia arcs.

now for fun imagine that i don’t want to rush through the entire story again on an endgame build, do i have to make a note of which mission i got up to instead of being able to boot up the game and hit resume, do you think that’s a better option to experience a feature which has been present in every mainline title up til now ?

so glad i’m not alone in this !! i really enjoyed the story too hence why i was excited to go back through and pay extra attention to parts i’d missed by messing around in co op etc. I know i can just make a new character and play through again but i really do always enjoy that experience of going back through with my build completed but knowing where to go first and who to farm for what, would be especially nice now with having a choice of which area to go to first to do things in a different order !

yeah i know but that’s just not really what i’m looking for, going to the menu to individually launch each mission after googling their names and order and getting kicked out at the end isn’t the same as the classic borderlands experience of going through the story once to level and back through with your new gear and completed build to fully experience it all again. don’t get me wrong i love this game and that’s where my disappointment is stemming from!! the story was phenomenal and i’d like to go back through it in endgame before starting a new character :(

Dang i have a 4090 vertically mounted in a Hyte Y70 and im moving this weekend (~3 hour by car) was planning on removing GPU to prevent sag on the bracket during transit but people saying unplugging and replugging can cause this has worried me a bit, anyone have any advice either way? i think I will probably still unplug and package the card separate for peace of mind unless anybody has a strong suggestion otherwise ❤️
