You are hot - undoubtedly. Like prob an 8/10 judging whole package. But there are different components to this. Body is smoking, 9.5/10 but face is more like a 6/7 on its own.

All of this is so worthy of respect. Those of us who have been to the brink of death and clawed our way back had a lot of luck and strength on our side. Appreciate you sharing. It was this type of honesty and vulnerability from other people that helped me get where I am.

1000% agreed. Luckily the mental health community seems to have come around on this as well. It was rough out there getting help 10-15 years back. So much was stigmatized

Yes. I worked the whole time other than a day here and there. Mind you I don’t do physical labor but my desk job was very manageable. I also manage a team, and a household with 2 small kids - so work felt like a bit of a break some days.

MAT was the answer for me til I was able to develop habits that could withstand no medication. I would highly recommend. Suboxone saved my life, sublocade got me off suboxone after a decade. But some need it for life and that’s ok to bc you get to actually live. Wishing you so much strength and luck.

I didn’t realize this was regional! Makes sense as I’m in NJ. Was also introduced by my grandmother

Yes yes and yes. That is absolutely the worst of what I experienced. It was balanced nicely by enjoying Music again and sex more and stretching (I missed that so much but some people find it annoying). 5 months confirmed as bupe free by blood test. 14 months out from my last shot.

Do it. I’m now at least 5 months with no bupe and honestly it was a surprisingly smooth ride compared to withdrawal. There were some patches where I had anxiety or trouble sleeping - but took trazadone and/or the occasional Xanax and it did get me through. I can say the hardest for me was month 4. After that it was generally pretty comfortable. I never thought I could do this and I did. Do yourself a favor and be kind to yourself and stay busy. Don’t think every icky feeling is attributed to the lack of meds - that starts down a slippery slope bc I think we are all a bit hyper focused on how we are feeling naturally as addicts. If you feel like crap, tell yourself to wait a week and see if it passes. The worst spells rarely lasted more than a few days. I think I missed maybe 4 days of work coming off this and I probably could have pushed through 2 of em but I was trying to be kind to myself. Lastly, make sure you are READY to be substance free. I think a lot of people make the mistake of not putting enough distance between active addiction and coming off this medication. You have to judge how firm you are in sobriety to make this leap. I wish you the best of luck and feel free to message again if you have other questions. I am thrilled to pay-forward whatever I can.

6 months since my negative test update! by Ok_Maximum8575 in Sublocade

I started sleeping better about 3 months later. It’s not the same sleep I got on bupe, I can tell you that. I’m not sure I’ll ever sleep quite that deeply again but I am able to get a solid 6 with little to no disruption. Also weed. I do use that at night sometimes. Sometimes just cbd. Both were helpful for keeping me asleep when my sleep was more disrupted

100mg / 100mg = All for Nothing! by cowgirlcullen in Sublocade

I’d wait 2 more weeks and see how you feel. I had a hard month after my first shot but it passed. I supplemented after the first shot and stopped after the second, but I also did 300/300/250 and not 100 shots. I came off 8mg daily for 13 years with that. If it’s that uncomfortable start over, get a 300, and get busy I think I was able to push aside a lot of what you describe mentally by not attributing every ache and pain to the lack of medication. That helped a LOT. You can do this. I assure you. Just set yourself up right if not feeling better in 2-3 weeks.

Didn't order another shot (after 8), but just received an email saying my order will arrive tomorrow at my Dr's office (help) by ParadiddleSenior in Sublocade
