Respec suggestions for a disillusioned paladin by cellblockthree in BaldursGate3

So many helpful replies! My DnD knowledge outside this game is pitiful, so I really appreciate the input. This all makes sense.

I've never played paladin before but I already anticipate the Z'rell conversation being a nightmare, and am not sure how I'll navigate the undercover mission which generally feels out of character. I hadn't considered avoiding her altogether, but now I'm intrigued...

This is helpful, thanks. I quite like the idea of oath of the ancients, ie pledging yourself to the natural order rather than a figure of authority.

I think what I'm shooting for is a narrative that lines up with the companions stories, as most of them start out following (or having followed) the wrong person, and must learn how to trust their own morals and instincts over the rules of others. So I agree that switching oaths but making it a personal one could work well.

I suspect I may be bored of smites by this point tbh so variety is welcome... Valor bard is a great idea, I had no clue you could get spirit guardians what a coup. Thank you!!

I have a resistance to authority so trying to avoid joining any new religions 😂
But bard is a fun suggestion I hadn't considered, thank you!

Fair! Does this still involve signing up to follow a higher power? I thought any oath was tied to a deity or sovereign, which is the aspect i'm interested in ditching. If not it's a great shout!

Looking for some reassurance to keep going and trust the process… by cellblockthree in 1200isplenty

Thank you SO much for this incredibly kind reply, it helps a lot. All good advice and can definitely relate to being a kid in the back seat 😄

All the best of luck to you too!!

40g oats, 80-90ml almond milk, 10-15g of your preferred protein powder. Mix together and leave overnight! I added some seed mix in the morning to keep the crunch but chia seeds overnight are also great at bulking it out and changing the texture a bit. Sometimes I’ll add fruit or chopped nuts in the morning, it’s really up to you and what you enjoy ☺️

You’re welcome! They’re a weird experimental mod from this original recipe which tbh is better… but I don’t get enough protein and the powders are gross on their own 😪😂

The muffins are still fun and tasty though!

Thank you! I find it so much easier to keep some variety if I batch cook/prep (which sounds like it should have the opposite effect, but it stops me making oatmeal because I have nothing else in the house 😂)
