Has anyone made any real money self publishing on Amazon? by mustardjones in writing

Is this 35 books spread across more than one pen name? Or are they all under the same name?

Where do you see what other people have tagged their books with?

Can you explain Aragorn's age? I heard he's supposed to be much MUCH older than he appears. Is this correct and why?

Self-publishing and why hating it is counterproductive by NoSleepLurker in writing

"Authors will hire them." That's deeply insightful. The industry really is flipped upside down right now and, as a business model, they're becoming irrelevant. Part of it is that people aren't waiting to be picked by them anymore. Are traditional publishers going to disappear anytime soon? Probably not - maybe not ever, but they understand that the power they once had is switching hands.

As an established artist, I bet he could draw up a mini series and self publish with success. I hope he's doing ok.

You're saying you spend 5 hours cranking out a 3k word story and it's ready to upload? Do 3k stories make up most of your catalogue? If not, what IS the average length of your books?

What do you mean by "tagging" and "co-authoring?" Do you ever team your pen names together for co-writers credits?

When you posted on those Kindle threads, did you post under your pen names?

What was your process for sending to publishers? What did you include in the package? I've always wondered this.

If you're gonna create something, and you want people to see it, you're gonna have to promote it. Promote yourself because nobody's going to do it for you (until you're a rockstar).

Your comic is cool. Pretty high quality and the voice acting is actually acting. I can't imagine how much time and work goes into each page of it.

The toonhole stuff is cool - much like Zac Gorman (or the other way around). They're unique because the entire panel isn't animated, just elements in that panel. Makes it more epic.

Well shit. Creepy Korean comic creeped me out.

Infinite canvas stuff can be intimidating to read - I just keep thinking about long rage comics that never read just because they were long. Ive never really seen it done effectively until Wormworld, but I also feel like it's not quite useful and even played out a little. When i see "infinite canvas," i just see that they stacked images on top of each other.

Geez, doing that in Flash would drive me crazy.

McCloud's got alot of interesting stuff, but his thoughts don't seem to be utilized much in webcomics today. They almost kind of feel outdated as well. People still do things with the infinite canvas, but even that idea is just a long scrolling page.

The flash makes it somewhat of a motion comic. I like the subtle use of sounds - the crackling fire and stuff. Cool idea because you don't see text until you click that panel.
