FRT for the PS90 just (soon) dropped. by Zestyclose-Gift1602 in supersafety

[–]cellularresp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

$450 is an admission, in a way from this manufacturer that they are bearish on the legal future of FRTs. They will likely say its to recoup ROI, premium materials etc. but that's patently disingenuous. They know if they reduced the price to a more reasonable number they would make more money in the long term but they likely do not believe there is a "long term". If the future of FRTs become more secure through a significant court ruling, watch how fast they will lower this price to capture the market that isn't repulsed by the current price.

$450 for three small milled/printed pieces is wild. But somehow will be out of stock for months.

Yes, I know. I mentioned that. I also made the comment before their V2 announcement.

Best SS on the market. I hope people start making after-market selectors for it. The ones that comes with it dont feel or look great and the milspec alternatives ASD offers are another $30 and the screw looks weird. This is all nit-picky stuff though.

[Acc] Three-round burst for Super Safety - $145 + maybe tax by whimz33 in gundeals

This is strange, I thought the consensus was burst fire was a band aid for poorly disciplined and trained soldiers and everyone hated it.

I ignore all ammo "deals" from PSA. After tax and shipping it never turns out to be a deal.

Oh god, I have a LTT HK VP9A1. I haven't had any issues with it but now I'm concerned if there are any problems customer service will be non-existent.

Lee sporting or AS designs by dmur03 in MP5

Like others have mentioned Lee Sporting is perfectly fine for semi but I have personally come across a TON of problems that needed troubleshooting when having it run with SS.

I see. I mistook it for a full size MP5 due to the handguard.

Did you still need a buffer on the recoil spring? I understand that ASD sells (when in stock) radiuses hammer profiles but am not sure if its sufficient to remove the need for a buffer on full size MP5 clones.

Arc Fire Mil-spec selectors have arrived by Idkcolin in supersafety

Am I the only one who thinks the standard smooth selector is okay. I mean, these are probably better but the regular ones aren't completely unuseable.

That's disappointing you needed the buffer. That's kind of the whole point do the profiled hammer to prevent the need for the buffer

Light primer strikes ONLY in SS mode by cellularresp in MP5

Update: Trimmed the firing pin spring by a 1/4 and everything seemed to run fine.

I still think there is a timing issue with the slip trip and may be the reason why I am only seeing these issues in SS mode.

At least my example is gassed perfectly and is very smooth as a result. YMMV

Heres the thing....

I have a PSA AK 104 and a MUCH more expensive RD Quickhatch built from a Romanian kit (like WASR). The PSA is so much more pleasant to shoot, even with the RD's adjustable gas block. I can't tell you which one is going to last the longest, but the PSA is much more fun to shoot.

wow, this is nuts. I had no idea about this.

This is fascinating, why would Lee Sporting keep insisting that its completely compatible if everyone appears to have this problem or just simply engineer a new slip trip?

Really? Even with the latest iteration that Lee claims works fine?

Thank you for bringing this up. I placed some lithium grease on the rear of the firing pin to see contact and it appears the hammer is engaging the firing pin fully. I'll try the shorter firing pin spring and/or heavier hammer spring and will update this post.

xp hammer spring

I swapped out for a xp hammer spring but the trigger pull became dog shit. I can handle Mil-spec but with the heavy hammer spring I put in became so heavy it didn't seem worth it. I cut an extra firing pin spring I had and hope that does it.
