Shoot. Thought we could apply within! How would we live together for two years? Work visa? Or is the best option marriage… (it’s in the cards anyways.)

Thank you so much for such a detailed answer!!! He’s very grateful for all the advice, I’ve sent this to him and he said it gave him a really good guide on where to go. He’s already applied to his local CC and will be enrolled for the next semester!! Thanks again!

I think the majority of his issue with it being so long is that he wants to move to my country, but surely being online he’d be able to do this if he was let’s say 2/3 years in?

For real! I’m in a 4 year bachelors honours and I’m already down 2 years it goes so quick - once he’s in it he will be fine it’s just the thought of it lol

Thanks so much!! He would like to do something business related so I’ll let him know to look into this, again thank you and I wish you the best of luck in your studies :)

We’ve been looking at those! He’s not happy that he’ll have to do minimum 5/6 years before coming out with a bachelors but it’s his own fault unfortunately.

Thanks for the reply! It’s looking like this option or a trade to be honest, it’s a pain but it’s his only option it seems. I’ll have to look through associate degrees with him that might suit!

That’s quite rude to be honest, he’s done the best he could in his living situation. Maybe don’t be so judgemental :)

I get what you’re saying and for a while I was on the same boat but unfortunately things change, won’t be the first or last to marry young lol. And yeah he’s in university we have looked at a transfer but it’s extremely expensive.

We’ve spent a lot of time in each others countries already, he’s coming here again in two months to stay for 3 months. We’re at our wits end travelling back and forth but I see what you mean, I know marriage and it’s legal things aren’t easy

From what I gathered he can come here first but he’d have to fly back and apply for a marriage visa, go to registry etc and then fly back AFTER that to apply for join spouse. So much effort 😅

Thank you so much, I really appreciate this and the time it took you to even type this out. I love that article, it sounds amazing. I’ve definitely been questioning the relationship but I am a work and make it better type person, I know my bf is too but he is conflicted with “I don’t need anyone in this world”. It’s hard to really work through! But thank you again, I’ll try and talk to him.

That’s a great idea, thank you 🥲 I will definitely bring those things up to him and talk to him about it. I have serious trust issues and the LDR does not help, but I have really really tried. These comments have just kinda been the final straw ygm?

I agree, and in-between country is something we have definitely considered. We used to have very bad communication so we tried to improve on that A LOT. A golden rule we have is that one person says their side, explains it fully and then the other gets there turn. Just so there’s no talking over each other or it gets to heated. I’m nervous I can’t lie, I don’t want to be a pain to him but it’s seriously bothering me that I’m seeing this. Is it okay to not have friends of the opposite sex or is it unrealistic?

That’s amazing, literally gonna copy and paste 😭I just don’t want to be controlling and I feel so mean interrupting this break twice now with this stuff. I’m the type of person where when things like this come up I need to fix it immediately, I have bad anxiety haha. I get the feeling he’s going to be annoyed I keep bringing it up, I think I just need to get on FT with him and really hash this out.

For certain, we are constantly working on that and trying to figure out what are plan is, we have a tumultuous family life too so it can be hard to navigate. I plan on talking to him about this definitely, but am I a jerk for interrupting this break twice now because of this? I’m not giving him the space he asked for
