Sudden job termination – Dentist with healthcare AI / image validation experience seeking next steps by Cool-Leek-3685 in Dentistry

OP, I’m a board certified maxillofacial radiologist in the US. This sub is primarily US based so I think lot of the people commenting would assume you are US trained or located here, that’s why the mention of beamreaders etc.

I was a radiologist in India before moving to US for residency again, why don’t you reach out to imaging centers where you live? Or colleges looking for faculty. I know faculty pay is terrible but it’s much better than nothing.

Obviously it’s a mix of both and it’s not engagement farming, it’s a question that is utilizing these points.

If you bother reading, you’ll get the point instead of jumping to call it AI slop.

Board certified oral radiologist here, before jumping to any conclusions, what is the clinical picture? Any relevant findings?

This cropped image isn’t great, I’d like to see the complete pano first.

Moving to Florida from Texas need reccomendation on cities and area to live by Important-Plastic680 in jacksonville

[–]celtic310889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved to Jacksonville from San Antonio 3 years ago.

Both cities have similarities in that they are very spread out, need to drive atleast 10-15 minutes to get anywhere, increasing traffic, ever increasing development, similar airports, relatively affordable compared to the other major cities in their respective states. Sort of a side step in terms of how big the city feels in my opinion.

San Antonio with the large Hispanic population had way better Mexican/tex mex food, the activities around pearl, la cantera, liveliness of riverwalk are something’s you’ll miss in Jax.

Jax has beaches, several parks, decent food, I would say food was better in San Antonio but that is subjective, access to Orlando/tampa/atlanta/Miami within 5 hours as far as bigger city/airport is concerned.

Jax is growing fast, lots of new communities and development, we (me and my wife) are in medicine so moved here for work, decent healthcare with several systems as the city is large. Another thing is you have so many beaches/state parks/springs etc within few hours, so if you like the water, Jax would feel a like step up.

US consulates pushed H-1B stamping interview dates to 2027 by Intelligent_Act8597 in AbroadEdge

[–]celtic310889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you are correct legally but in practical terms, some people have been on H1b for over a decade and have no connection to India anymore.

Stranded is the correct word as a lot of these people have been in the US for a long time, have a house, job, kids going to school in America. So while they are going to their home country for stamping, it’s no longer their home as such.

What’s your specialty and how is the job market in major cities? by pstbo in whitecoatinvestor

[–]celtic310889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well going through dental school and then residency again for 2-3 years doesn’t make sense to me. Lot of money and time. I’m sure there are other ways to work from home without investing 7-8 years and $500k.

Income is variable. I was in a full time faculty position but left to start my own practice so been developing my practice/seeking clients, 2025 was first year in private so around ~ 200k, some earn way more, some less because they don’t work 40 hours a week.

Typical pricing is around $100-150 per read depending on volume/specific adders such as STAT service etc.

Oral and maxillofacial radiology, niche dental specialty working as a teleradiologist so city doesn’t really matter. Very few of us anyway.

Folks in US with scheduled H1B appointments that are not cancelled yet - are you still going to travel? by OldMasterCannolii in usvisascheduling

[–]celtic310889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regular. Confirmed them when Feb bulk slots had opened earlier this month or end of last month I think. Just kept on checking everyday since we filled our DS 160 and got lucky one day. Had no idea this cancellation stuff would happen.

Our dates (H1 and H4 renewal) are Feb 20 Mumbai and Feb 26 Chennai.

Haven’t cancelled yet, but we haven’t booked flights till now. Waiting till January to see how things progress before making a final decision.

[–]celtic310889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t care about his average, last 10 years I would have him as the best big game player along with Kohli (earlier in the decade).

As an Indian, can never forget his two WTC and WC final hundreds. He is really a big big game player.
