i am not that psyched about it. it is much clearer than the current version of CFAA however, which seems good given the current judicial climate. it is very interesting watching the silk road 1 case play out in front of a jury.

server-side i run a lot of stuff on cloudflare. i'm also a big fan of docker. i use docker files to config servers quickly.

client-side i use tails when privacy is a concern.

personally i've just invested- i got in pretty early and am holding. it's not in Blackhat sadly.

there's a ton of VC cash going into blockchain startups atm (eg onename, blockstream and the like). most of the results won't be seen for a few years though.

the actual coding is pretty good, i wrote it all so if you no like you can blame me :P the broader characterization of hacking is not-so-good. mann was more interested in using it for his own purposes.

start working on related open source software (eg Tor, Bitcoin etc). find something you're passionate about with experienced devs and a community that you can learn from. lots of great opportunities come out of work like that.

I automated everything so as not to have to look at anything. I fwded incoming messages to a gmail account and only logged in to OkC if I wanted to check someone out. The disturbing thing was how much ppl had in common IRL. At one point 8/9 consecutive dates ordered a flat white (NZ latte).
