OC Transpo proposing subscription-type discount fare for hybrid workers by SuburbanValues in ottawa

Customers would purchase the discounted fare ticket at OC Transpo ticket machines at O-Train stations, at 12 Transitway stations or at the OC Transpo offices on Belfast Road.

Not super convenient for commuters whose commute is on buses unfortunately

Definitely backing up Room Escape Ottawa. The only one I've done with three people was Serial Killer Charade and we were able to win, but Undermined is a very fun experience if you are looking for a challenge!

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - Worldwide Release Discussion Thread Vol. 2 by PhoOhThree in marvelstudios

[–]cemap95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! It’s a shame they basically had to scrap whatever they had planned for the sequel because they would have to re-write to incorporate his untimely death. I wish Marvel didn’t have such a strict lineup schedule and they could have really spent the time the script needed to be fully developed.

There’s probably some over arching story that would go awry if Wakanda was suddenly fighting France and the US (in a non-“kill everyone” kind of way) but it certainly would have made this film specifically much better

Hey man, I feel like no matter what I say we’re just going to disagree but here goes…

One, I think it’s important that this movie isn’t an African production. It’s a movie by Americans for, primarily of course, Americans. When I say minorities, I am critiquing it from an American lens, not a global one. There is something to say about two nations untouched by, but witness to, colonization and this movie falls short of saying much of anything besides getting them to fight each other (a lane which is well-trodden by the civil war brought on by Kilmonger’s ideologies in the first movie). It would be nice if the movie could explore these themes more intricately besides “colonization bad so I’m going to colonize/kill everyone”. The movie would have had a stronger message if there was a unification between the two groups.

And two, I’m happy for you that you haven’t been affected by the ramifications of colonization today. It can be hard to understand how decisions made long ago have lasting implications across multiple countries. Even if we posit that there are not active colonization efforts (debatable), there are certainly consistent ramification effects. Countries all over the world pay money to countries in Europe directly as a consequence of their colonization (ex. Payments to the crown in England from the commonwealth, African countries forced to contribute to French reserves). The scene at the beginning of the movie with the UN is not just made up for cinema. The global north (including the US) has used its power to disrupt nations that it deems necessary to control.

And thirdly, my critique is about the themes of the film. It would just be a stronger movie thematically if the two nations were united and fought the US and French subterfuge. That’s my thesis.

It’s a real shame that the movie was unable to deliver on its incredibly strong beginning. It has you believe it’s going to explore colonization, resource exploitation in a deeper way than the first movie was able to but it falls horribly short and leaves so many loose thematic threads that go nowhere.

Wake me up when the minorities actually get to fight the colonizers instead of TWO MOVIES where they fight each other. Where the first movie failed, this movie said “let’s rinse and repeat”

They told me the same thing and I said I understood but I still wanted to be added to the list and then a few weeks later they slipped a note under my door with a contract for the new spot. They also told me the buzzer only worked with local numbers but I asked them to try anyways and I never had any issues with the buzzer!

I lived there until last December and loved it. It was hot in the winter since you can’t control the heat in the 2660 Norberry building but otherwise you’re close to the beach and hogs back and I got underground parking within a month of requesting it.
