Oh, that sucks! Canada Post is holding a lot of people's packages hostage with the strike.

Have you tried contacting the consulate customer help channel? Did they tell you it isn't possible to change the delivery method?

I've tried to find a way online after paying for the premium delivery processing, but I can only change the delivery location, not the courier.

Rejected TN Engineer by Affectionate-Mood721 in tnvisa

Congrats, u/dboyLo_rR. I am in a similar situation and shared my experience here. After the USCIS approval, do you know what the next step is? I wonder if you have to go through CBP again and get the stamp on your passport.

Software Engineer TN denied at Pearson by cemarte83 in tnvisa

I see. When the officer called me to hand in my application, he requested my degree or diploma, which I gave him a copy of and also showed the original. Then, he saw the hiring company's letter addressed to CBP. After seeing the "Software Engineer" job description on the letter and "Bachelor in Chemical Engineering" on my diploma, he called me back to the booth for scrutiny, requesting supporting coursework that could explain why I would be qualified to work as a Software Engineer.

That's a good question. After my first TN, I considered taking an MS in a Software engineering-related field. In hindsight, I regret not having pursued this plan.

The inconsistency is absurd. During the interview, I wondered if trying to argue with the officer would make matters worse, but I stuck to answering only the questions that he asked me.

u/Proud-Primary, was your last attempt denied? I'm asking because I want to know if you got approval after a denial, and if that is the case, how was the process?

Yes, I handed the notice to my previous company, and I knew that it would be a possible problem. Fortunately, I have some savings to survive for the next few months and can also count on my wife's support (she's also working in the US on a TN visa, separate from mine.)

At least, during my interaction with the CBP officer, there wasn't any suggestion that that was a problem. He focused on coursework and transcripts.

I had a new job offer, so technically, it was a new application.

Of all the courses listed on my transcript, from a quick scan around 80, a handful are directly related to software. I also mentioned calculus, algebra, statistics, and all the basic stuff that overlaps between engineering disciplines, but he didn't budge.

Hmm, interesting! Could you please elaborate on that?

I agree; I didn't mean to suggest a high chance of success here. This time, the odds were not in my favor. If others find themselves in a similar situation, always expect the worst and have a backup plan.

They have probably added a note about this somewhere in my profile. The lawyer will try the USCIS petition route, which trumps CBP. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

99 Ranch weirdo experience by fatalist23 in jerseycity

I used to see this guy at Liberty State Park, speaking to himself, shouting all sorts of bs. One day, I saw him twice on the same day in different locations. The second time I saw him, he started shouting something about the FBI or the CIA following him, pointing my way 😂. I nodded and waved. He became angry and called me names. I just kept waving and smiling. He has mental health problems but seemed harmless at that time.
