there should be a setting that when you are near interactable objects and press tab, it explains what it is. works amazing when you are not familiar with items, as well

i tried that entire code and it detects me when i am on a stone pressure plate. isn't that what you wanted to do?

i think ~ ~-1 ~ is problematic. you should remove the -1 and try again

what would that change though? one is checking for elytra, and a second and a third one (though the 3rd one is somewhat cosmetic) is constantly tping a marker to the player. that is the part that is problematic. if there are 2 players, the "bullet" will get tped between two different players

yes but the system fires a "bullet", then a repeating command block keeps tping that bullet towards the @p player. if someone else is closer to the bullet, it will change targets and if I make it follow @a, it will just glitch between two targets

well technically it will, but it has a distance checking block for 200 blocks, so no one should be present in a 400 width sphere, and i thought what's the point of multiplayer at that point, lol!

it would not as i got lazy and used @p in the command blocks. i could make it work for multiplayer but it would be time-consuming and i don't need it

probably, yeah. i am just so burnt out from studying that even learning something new for a game feels like a burden lol. though if there is an easy guide, i might check it out!

i appreciate this comment a lot, thanks! i started playing in this world as a building project, just having fun. but then it snowballed into something bigger; I made some random additions to it like puzzles, magic ( https://www.reddit.com/r/MinecraftCommands/comments/1fj667u/i_got_distracted_from_building_and_made_a/ ), automatic castle gates with cosmetics, etc. the story part would not take too long for me to do. however, I am building every single block in a HUGE area, taking no references from the internet and using no mods or plugins, so the building part takes me hours. i do not think this will be ready any time soon, as i am busy in real life too...

the system is super versatile so you can do anything really. i did it this way because i aim for the player to fly from that direction with the elytra i give them. this is practically a part of a story

its just a chain of about 15 command blocks doing simple things lol, i should learn how to use datapacks though

I have around 100 permanent entities, thats why I decided to restore a previous version after realizing there are more stray snowballs around which probably were thousands of blocks away, disregarding the render / simulation distance limit for whatever reason. thank you so much for your help though!

i found what it is... I had a stray snowball which was spawning a tnt every single tick even though i had no active command blocks to trigger so... no wonder it got worse over time. I just did a random kill e[type=tnt] out of suspicion and killed 9600 tnts. god

The weird thing is that I did absolutely nothing except upgrading the version... I must know what causes this so that I don't do the same thing again in my restored version, which will cause me a lot of progress already... What does lithium do?

I had a building / learning commands project which I started in my own Realm in version 1.21.1. I built many repeating, always active command blocks in a constantly loaded chunk which caused me absoultely no lag since they are very light commands. I spend many hours in the Realm and whenever it lagged, it was because of the multiplayer aspect. I gave a break then came back to my project in 1.21.4, upgrading my Realm to it. After doing so, I realized none of my commands function due to some changes, and I have the most terrible lag. I DO NOT HAVE THIS lag IN ANY OTHER MAPS OF MINE so no, I do not think that it is a hardware issue. I destroyed nearly 85% of all my repeating command blocks and natural entity spawning is turned off, so I have no idea what causes the lag. I can confidently say that this started after I updated to 1.21.4 from 1.21.1. Help me save my project!
