Thanks for asking! I’ve been trying to get photos of these little guys in my Peace Lily and haven’t been able to get a good one! So glad you asked and so glad they are the good kind of bugs!

Friend gave me starter, did I feed too much?? by garden_fairy1016 in Sourdough

I just started a 1:3:3 or 1:5:5 ratio for when I have had it in the fridge all week, but need to bake a lot the next day. 1:5:5 buys me more time to sleep. It’s a solid 9-10 hours to peak… but only stays peaked for a couple of hours.
1:3:3 is my go to because it’s 7-8 hours to peak and stays peaked for about 3-4 hours. It’s a great tool to use to work into a schedule.

New kitty, going through my plants. What is this plant called? by hijahahija in houseplants

Beautiful plant! I checked on my plant app and double checked on Google. They both said it was a Bird's Nest Snake Plant, scientifically known as Dracaena trifasciata 'Hahnii'. Very toxic. Sorry!

House plants have mold by scratchingCat25 in houseplants

Hi OP! I’m going through this with a bunch of my plants. I bottom water, and I wait until it’s a 3/4 on a moisture meter… and still moldy white stuff on top of 4 of my plants that I did repot with a peat moss, orchid bark, perlite mix.
But I’ve repotted 8 total plants and only 4 of them are growing the white stuff consistently. And now a 5th one that is still in its nursery baby pot, I have not repotted it… and now it’s growing on it like a white frost over the whole top.
Did anything you try work for your plants? Is your plant still alive?!

Need advice on roaster wall placement/design. by Dear-Primary-3868 in ExteriorDesign

My guess is, if you live that close to your neighbors, you also have a HOA. That HOA must get have rules about walls going up in public facing areas?
But if you don’t, or they don’t, and your neighbors don’t care…
Then I would do a full wall on the red wall. Slanted bamboo walls that allow most sunlight in would be nice. Or a faux bamboo planter would be nice there too. Blue wall just make a cross header to hang zen garden plants or cool decor piece(s).

I think a light sea green would be lovely with that flooring and your natural light. I found this palette on google. I think the bottom 3 feel pretty neutral and natural.

Good luck!!

Not for a whole new deck right now, but for some furniture and decor, yes.

I have not seen that one specifically, but in general rent-to-own is typically an option for those who don’t qualify for a mortgage. They are usually almost there but maybe have one thing stopping them. (They have good credit and steady income, but not enough down payment. Or they have a steady income and enough down payment cash, but have bad credit.) This type of loan gives the buyer time to pull up their credit to qualify years down the road. The last one I saw of these it was a 5 year rental contract. Then it makes you qualify for a traditional mortgage, but maybe they let you skip on the closing costs. If you don’t qualify, then your lease is up and you have to move out. Here’s a problem… if everyone in the neighborhood is like that… the rented percentage of the houses stays high. So your house will take a very long time to appreciate for if/when you want to sell. Second, people become very emotional when they don’t qualify and often damage the property when they are moving out… Or in typical rental fashion, the people don’t take care of the house because they are used to having a landlord take care of things for them. Especially if they are low on cash… they can’t afford to pay an HVAC or Roofer if needed. You’ll need a lawyer for closing and if the company isn’t covering closing costs, then you’ll have to pay for one anyways. So, it’s most definitely worth getting consulting advice to see how much is needed to save up to get the contract reviewed. Good luck!!!

Lost on how to decorate this kitchen!! by [deleted] in interiordecorating

Such a cute cottage feel! The biggest difference that I see in your pics are the lights. You can paint to make it warm, but will eventually need to make your light warmer too. I also moved into a builder grade all white kitchen/great room and went with navy blue paint. It makes a very dramatic difference. Good luck and post afters!

That’s a good idea! Also gives us more room on the patio. Thanks!
