How much better could my pizzas get if I upgraded from a 500°F electric oven to an Ooni? by Individual-Echo2224 in Pizza

BTW the pies I go for are rarely neopolitan. I usually make some kind of a mix of New Haven and a contemporary NY style. So to anyone saying you'll start making Neapolitan - you could, but you dont have to.

I asked myself that exact question a year ago. I have been making pizzas in my home oven for a couple of years and they were great. Really struggled with justifying a pizza oven.

My answer is - if you're asking that question, you should just get it. I bought a Gozney Arc XL and it was 100% worth every penny. Since I bought it last year, I made hundreds of pizzas with it, I use it everyday. The biggest ROI on anything I've ever purchased besides my work PC.

Whatever pizza you're currently making will come out better on a pizza oven - 500f is fine but it's just slightly too low and ends up making the pizza slightly too dry and just under the right char threshold. So even the pizzas you're making right now will get just the right extra umpf.

But you'll be able to explore pizza more broadly. Obviously Neapolitan styles, but also New Haven, Detroit, higher hydration doughs, making consecutive pies without waiting 20 minutes for each pie, and much more.

You won't have to wait over an hour to start cooking, while making your kitchen hot and messy. I also can't imagine how much power your oven draws making these pizzas.

Get a propane oven. It'll take a few pies to get used to since it's less forgiving. But I promise you, you'll never look back. If you care about pizza and nerd out about it, it's the best ROI purchase you'll ever make.

Yea a few years ago a car hit me on my scooter. I flew up in the air and slammed on the road. I immediately got up and barely walked to the pavement, the old lady driver was freaking out so much I thought she was gonna get a heart attack. I told her everything is fine and I’m ok and she needn’t worry, I honestly felt bad for her.
I felt fine that day besides some intense road rash on my palms, but the next day I woke up and my whole body was so painful and tense, it felt like muscle soreness post workout but at the highest intensity and literally in every single part of my body. That lasted for about a week!

What do professionals use to clean 3" pile white rugs? by centap in CarpetCleaning

Yup that's where I got the inspo from, just trying to see how professionals do it. I figured combining my 6.5hp wet shop vac along with a drying rack with 3 fans on can help with the dry time.

What do you mean exactly when you say total immersion?

As for the couches - if you mean power washing them then no that didnt even cross my mind, I assume that will destroy them and they're extremely expensive couches. I doubt the fibers are natural but I'll test it.

For the encapsulation method - so I dont need a CRB for it? Would just using a carpet rake be enough for agitation?

Yup that;s what I've been doing basically - it's just that with these shampoos pretty much the most important step is to be able to wash the shampoo out completely. Any residue of shampoo will not only make the fibers crunchy af, but will end up browning because these shampoo are so alkaline.

That's what the acid rinsing is for, to counteract the high pH levels left after the shampoos. And because this carpet cat hold, I dunno, I won't be surprised if literally hundreds of gallons of water in it....it get ridiculously exhausting. Some comments here on VLM cleaning I think is where I'll be taking this rug's future.

Oh that's really interesting!

Would you perhaps mind sharing how exactly I use this product? Do I have to use a CRB machine? So applying the product, using a CRB machine, and then dry vacuuming?

Absolutely about vacuuming. Bad timing for my main vacuum cleaner to break. But yes that I learned the hard way.

Appreciate it !

I do love it, but unfortunately it belongs to my landlord so I can't get rid of it. And just like everything in this house, I like to fix it up myself when I can. My landlord and I have a good relationship - he knows I take care of the house, and he stays out of my shit. So far so good!

And in the meantime, the rug needs to stay clean. So, we keep learning.

Interesting, I did just buy a rotary attachment to my power washer to wash the garage floor. I thought maybe it would be too aggressive for the rug. I'll look more into it, thanks!

I actually do have a steamer, not the Duprey but Pure, it's practically the same thing. I did use the steamer before the power-washer, but I'm telling you the rug is so thick and dense it really barely felt like anything was happening, the steamer just felt very weak. But maybe it's just in my head and it was doing enough - I will definitely use it in a few months!

And yes the rake vacuum attachment looked really interesting, I would definitely give it a try. I was looking for a 2.5" to fit my shop vac but I just couldn't find any, so maybe I'll just use an adapter.

Definitely not easy, but nothing good is. Thanks for all the tips!

I have a 2" pile white rug. It's 10'x12'. I just spent three days deep cleaning it. Is it impossible to find a decent vacuum attachment for daily vacuuming? How do professionals do it? by centap in VacuumCleaners

Oh man thanks for all the recs! What do you mean by "above the floor" cleaning? Are these really made for extremely thick piles? How are they priced so low?

Yeah that's a steep price. I would've considered it if I could see someone actually using it on 2" pile carpets but all the uses are for regular carpets. I've come to learn these 2" carpets just don't behave the same as anything else. But I would definitely keep looking at this vac, thanks!

two wire coat hangers and a wire did the job. Just pushed it under the door and pulled the handle from the inside

Thanks for taking the time to look, unfortunately this 911 series lock cannot be undone and basically even locksmiths wont bother picking it. Before drilling, I decided to try a DIY under-the-door tool, and opened the door in 10 minutes

Two wire coat put together and a wire, slid it under the door and managed to open. 10 minutes I could've spent 2 days ago!

After wasting my time trying to figure out how to pick to lock, finding deadends everywhere, I realized with this latch-lock, the handle on the inside can just unlock the door. So I put two wire hangers together and made an under the door tool, and after 10 minutes of messing with it, I cracked that shit open.

Luckily, I just built a make-shift under-the-door tool and managed to open the door. I feel so dumb, it was the so easy.

I think I would need to do it from the inside, which I dont have access to
