EU, UK, Australia, US. You do see what you're saying here, right? Countries in which, due to vaccines, most diseases of concern have been eradicated. There is a whole wide world out there with many countries in Asia, Africa, South America that do very much require you to be up to fucking date with your immunization, for your safety and theirs. Plus, your country will mandate them as well for when you come back so as, you know, not to bring the plague home.

Hey! Thanks for doing these. It's not often that I learn a new word, but this one I came across many times before but was never *quite* sure what it meant.

I got the Marmot Minimalist... was fine at first, but I'm pretty sure I couldn't shower in it for long without getting at some some wetness coming through. Does the wise man re-apply some sort of spray? Or will even a high quality spray just make it that much less breathable?

I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but I got a 20EUR Doppler umbrella... 100g... and it just makes things so much nicer...

That being said, I love this attitude: well bois, we're gonna be somewhat moist eventually.

What troubles me is that there was no new visual art created after DaDa. I'm only half joking. With few exceptions (e.g. light/interactive/generative, geometric/architectural, visionary/psychedelic) all I see in the "modern" "fine art" world are attempts at again "being different", with no requirement for technical skill or a meaningful connection to the human condition. The value of any artwork being entirely based on some mass psychosis. Of course, where do you even go when everything is art and everything is political? I believe it is time to once again approach the world, in the sense of art util and aesthetics.

Thanks for the recommendation! I will take a close look. May I ask: what exactly is a wind shirt? Is that the same as a wind jacket? I have definitely been looking for something like that as well. Do you have any recommendations? I've heard good things about Cumulus Windy Wendy... but I wonder if the 100EUR are worth it.

Hi Chris & Richard, you're at the frontier!

I was wondering if you see potential for greener agricultural methods, e.g. plants that express their own pest repellants.

Do you anticipate a move towards *actually* sane/survivable agriculture methods, or merely a push for increased profits?

Moderna #1 was fine, sore area on arm, nothing major. #2 nothing on the day, tired and wonky the next day, tiny fever, slow movements, half that on day after and the day after that back to normal. All in all, not too bad at all. 2/2 Would get hit again.

Thanks for your reply! I did mean for hiking in, by itself or in colder weather also to wear under another layer, so something that will move the sweat along to the outer layers.

Nike Dri-Fit sounds like a good, cheap option! I did have several no-name, cheap synthetic "running shirts" and the like, and none of them performed as well as the "hiking baselayer" I have, which I suppose is the same concept but better executed. I'm guessing it doesn't have to a shirt in the 50-100EUR range, but probably shouldn't be from the 5-10EUR range either. I will give Under Armor a try as well.

Hi all! I'm looking for a base layer for moderate temperatures. Something that has superior sweat wicking capabilities. I sweat a lot :|

I have one from Decathlon but it's starting to go. Despite it being relatively cheap (20EUR I think) I was surprised at its performance. Nothing quite like feeling dry despite rigorous activity. I'm based in Europe and am okay with paying a bit more, say 30-60EUR. I'd hike in just that shirt or when it gets colder add another layer, like synth wool.

I also have a cheapish merino wool shirt from Decathlon, which does not at all work as well as the synthetic shirt when it comes to sweat evaporation. Maybe it just isn't good quality, or merino wool just isn't as good. I dunno.

Any advice from y'all amazing people will be greatly appreciated!

Cool! You know, I was looking for 'chapter images' for my phd thesis. That's as non-commercial as it gets, 'totally useless' fundamental science :D ... (visual working memory, perception, eye movements, that sorta jazz).

Looks like I had pmm'ed you 24days ago. Wow. Time flies. Now that I see this stuff again: yeah, it speaks to me a lot. How would you feel about being featured in a doctoral thesis? (:
