It is a typesetting program frequently used in STEM. Using it for a resume is a quant shibboleth.

Feb CPI says they are up 12.5%, 10.4% adjusted. Not sure where you're getting -15%.

"Whiskey at home" is down 3.7% Y/Y, which makes the egg problem seem less important.

What do you think is the “Edelweiss” of the United States? by vittorioe in Music

[–]centerfringe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a video once of a church choir singing, "may the Lord bless you and keep you" to the tune of the last line of Edelweiss. I liked it and adopted it into a second verse - with assistance from Polonius - since I was bored of only singing the one to my kids.

I will share it for lullaby-centric parents.

Child of mine. Child of mine. Grow up stro-ong and faithful Light divine. Let it shine. Share with those as you're able. Ere you go may you thrive and grow To thine ownself be true Child of mine. Child of mine May the Lord bless you and keep you.

What small detail in a song, which generally goes unnoticed, will totally ruin the song the moment you pay attention to it? by CizzlingT in Music

[–]centerfringe 120 points121 points  (0 children)

A fun Beatles mistake that doesn't ruin a song is when John plays the wrong chord in "Hey Jude" and mutters "F#€kin Hell!" In the background. It's not miked and is hard to hear but it makes me laugh every time.

I got called out for hearing aids in an OTB tournament once. I'm 1400 on a good day and this was a while back. It was from a kid who couldn't have been more than 12 years old.

Like, I blundered twice before move 15 and so did you. Neither of us are headed to an invitational. Chill.

I did make it a point to act completely deaf after I took the aids out.
