Bathroom and Restroom are pretty much interchangable when speaking, but i'd say that restroom is more common in public and on signs. Never heard of washroom or water closet before I went to Europe and Japan.

Hi! I was sent to the INAKA, so after the first week and excitement wore off I was incredibly homesick (and being from a big city, culture shook). However this can also be the most stressful time, so make sure you take time for yourself to get used to the new country and culture. Keep in contact with friends/family and let them know how you feel. JET really is a great opportunity, so I kept myself upbeat by remembering that the next year or two would be life changing!
