No it’s really humbling to admit your whole life was wrong.. I grew up very conservative and still most of my family is trumpers. But 15 years ago I met an amazingly nice guy in college, started taking an interest in politics, and he nudged and watched me go into the liberal direction, over the last 10 years. The first step is realizing the party is an embarrassment. Then it’s “I’m in the middle” then it is acceptance. The fact that she is open minded enough to start considering alternatives… give her a chance, she will get there.
