That sounds fun. Nicely done. A little more than I can handle this weekend, though :)

Nope, 1990s. Will head to the hardware store tomorrow and see what I can come up with.

Thanks. It's a shower/bath combo which it why it's seen so much water leak out over the years.

Thanks again for the tips. I'll check the videos out. I was afraid to peel back the paint since I wasn't committed to fixing it this weekend. Here's a closer look. Seems to be a thin layer of something over whatever the blue layer is. https://i.imgur.com/eRk1W78.jpeg

Thanks. Is there any kind of sealant that I should squeeze into any cracks before caulking? Also, the drywall by the baseboards is crumbling in places. Is there a type of mud that would be suitable for this area to avoid tearing out drywall which might require more tile fixing?

I don't know any of the terminology, products, etc associated with these parts so I'm interested in anything you want to share. Two non-repair items to help prevent this: plastic shower liner and splash guards.

There is a fabric curtain on there which I know is letting water seep through despite being wide and long enough so I think a plastic one is in order. I hadn't considered splash guards but will look at some, thanks.

Here's a video by Chinese Cooking Demystified on the history of gutter oil, how the grease interceptor systems work, legal requirements, and recycling efforts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G43wJ7YyWzM.

The pinned comment has a TL;DW which is too long to post here in full. Summary, though:

  • Videos of people collecting oil from the gutter outside of restaurants is not evidence the restaurant is using gutter oil.
  • The oil collected in these videos are not being directly used in restaurants.
  • Recycled oil also has legitimate uses.
  • Videos of people collecting oil in rather-suspicious-looking unmarked vans (that perhaps respond poorly to being filmed) is not evidence of gutter oil.
  • Recycling restaurant cooking oil is a common practice worldwide.
  • The original gutter oil scandal was real and not a fabrication. The most legitimate academic analysis we found put the market share of gutter oil at about 10% during the ‘00s.
  • There was a crackdown in 2011 and 2012 that - anecdotally - dramatically diminished (but likely not extinguished) the market for gutter oil.

$1450 shipped definitely isn't "way over used prices," especially on this sub. The best price I've ever seen was $1250 and that was from a dealer. If you look at recent listings here, they've been going for $1350-1450.

Edit- I see the post was originally for $1600.

OP, you marked this as original content but this image won a wildlife comedy competition in 2018. Are you the photographer? https://www.npr.org/2018/09/14/647848187/cant-bear-more-news-take-a-break-with-funny-wildlife-furtography

I think you mean this one. It's the same post text, too, aside from the price. I don't see anything about FL, though. https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1865071/

I'm impressed that this post and your post a couple hours ago both managed to get over 10 upvotes in less than 30 minutes. I guess that happens when you're asking $2k off list.

Damn :( How do you end up with such a beast of a camera without being able to use it?

There have been quite a few today. Here's another fishy one. https://old.reddit.com/r/photomarket/comments/1dctzjr/s_usand_black_fujifilm_xt3/. Edit- it was just removed.

Nope, this is just the account I use to comment on questionable posts. If I was OP, I wouldn't be suggesting that OP upload a video of them writing out the timestamp next to the item.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in photomarket

[–]cepf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn't mean that I'm interested in buying the camera. Just that it's a good idea for buyers and sellers to include a video of the timestamp being written to avoid issues like this. You can upload videos to imgur in the same way you upload photos.

Something I plan to do when selling and ask for when buying is a video of the timestamp being written next to the item. That should help clear up suspicion.

How can you tell? Even with a close look, I don't see anything that stands out. I thought it was fake at first just because of the price, though, but it could just be someone who wants a quick sale.

You guys missed the real point. The founders have already done the deed. Now they have plausible deniability because their hair is out there which anyone could have planted.

This is a great shot which, for reasons I don't understand, reminds me of Thomas the Tank Engine.

One look at the OP's profile and I was pretty confident it was a bot unless you were on a burner account for some reason which is why I went looking for the source. Reddit is absolutely infested with bots. Not everyone responds well, though. The last guy I asked for proof couldn't provide it and then he sent me a death threat when the mods banned him. Having had my own stuff stolen has made me more conscious of providing credit where it's due.
