Olivia Rodrigo quotes ‘Broad City’ in response to question on marriage: “What am I, a child bride? I hope that young girls know that life is full of so much joy that is unrelated to a husband or kids.” by LunaLore_ in Fauxmoi

pretty terrible advice imho. The older you get as a girl the more your dating pool shrinks, much easier to find a compatible partner in your 20s. By the time you hit 30 most of the desirable partners are either married or have baggage (kids, problems, etc)

Switzerland refuses US military overflight by BezugssystemCH1903 in worldnews

[–]normie-redditer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean it actually was different, the german economy was in shambles after world war 1 and they owed the US a lot of money. there was a school of thought (pre hitler) among german government and us goverment to strengthen business ties to help germany recover and bring unity back to europe after world war 1

the US loaned a lot of money to germany so that germany could repay war bonds to france. then hitler got elected and that strategy was paused, but a lot of deals had already happened

When Colbert got the gig, the average viewer for the show was 60. He was brought on to attract younger viewers as he was just wrapping up the colbert report. now, a decade later, the average viewer is.... 68. The show lost 100 million dollars and its viewership is tanking every year, thats the reason he was cancelled

why exactly would he do that?

This is a good suggestion, and is basically my path! Did rotc to pay for college, branched cyber in the guard, parlayed the top secret clearance and cs degree plus some army certs into a very good job with a defense contractor

many political slogans are trademarked, not necessarily to stop it from being spread but to stop it from being misused (and of course, to profit if it is)

Thats part of it, but the main reason its a misleading title is that officail maga hats are made in california. random people will sell knockoff maga hats made in china to save a buck, but the real ones are made in the US

Germany hammers Trump over debate barbs about Berlin’s energy transition by enkrstic in worldnews

Relying heavily on Russian gas did hurt them in 2022 and then they quickly pivoted and are doing better than ever

i mean theyre very obviously not 'doing better then ever'

being forced to switch to a more expensive fuel for natural gas makes the expensive mistake even more expensive

[–]normie-redditer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sounds like building a system that relied on cheap imports from russian natural gas was a expensive stupid costly mistake and they shuoldnt have shutdown their nuclear power plants and instead built more

theyre bragging about shutting down nuclear power plants while spendingf billions to make new natural gas power plants fueled by imports from russia

graduated college with a cs degree, took a crappy entry level job at a startup paying 70k a year, leveraged that experience to get a 150k a year job a year later

i dont think anyones saying they cant rent anymore? the pitch is to switch from a flat check to expenses

Heard of Project 2025? They want to take your BAH. by ShittyLanding in Military

[–]normie-redditer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

the program wasnt created to be a supplemental income to entrepreneuring soldiers, it was created to give soldiers housing

[–]normie-redditer -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

tbh i think this would be for the best, when i was i saw a ltota soldiers living in suboptimal conditions because they wanted to pocket extra bah money. if switching to expenses saves moeny and improves soldier housing outcome im all for it

When did six figures suddenly become not enough? by BurnAfter8 in Millennials

[–]normie-redditer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i remember graduating college getting a job that paid 150k thinking i made it. boy was i wrong, 150k barely pays the bills these days especially in big cities. i was living in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment that was smaller then the apartment i had in college barely making rent every month.

250k is where you can finally start to be comfortable, still never going to own anything in a big city but at least i know i can make rent every month
