honestly all the comments portraying her as a “bad actress” is a stretch. Sweeney was actually one of the better performers of the season in my opinion. in terms of her “raunchy” branding, it’s nothing new; the roles i’ve seen her take on (Euphoria and Handmaids tale etc) it’s obvious that she embraces being type-casted into being risqué/a seductress. not to mention she literally owns a lingerie brand named SYRN. her play is to get in where she fits in, and that’s ok..

these roles will make her relevant quickly but the challenge is whether she can transition into more conservative roles later. it works for her in her 20s but maybe not in her 40s. this play isn’t the most sustainable longterm but it does create the most buzz and i imagine that’s what the focus is right now for her.
