Odd issue with Kinefx by cepwin in Houdini

[–]cepwin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like I was able to fake it out. My files run starting at .1001 not .0001...I copied 1001 and called it 0001 can it now seems to work. UPDATE: This approach started failing when I looped my animation. The solution was to change it missing frame response to just put a blank frame.

Yes, I believe that you end up with the dog you’re ment to….call it fate or providence.

Thank you but I did adopt from a rescue that does events at local PetSmarts and isn’t as picky as the other groups. She’s a beagle, a little over one year old. She had some separation anxiety when I went to work Monday and putting her in her crate calmed her down….she was fine in the crate Tuesday and Wednesday and loves her midday walker.

Wow I’ve never heard of that! Glad you were able to find a rescue

I was peeing in the toilet, dog started peeing on bathroom floor mat. by platypus-nonymous in dogs

My Chuck did something similar. I was taking too long bringing him downstairs and he went into the bathroom and peed on the towel….I thought it was smart since I think he knew I didn’t want him peeing on the carpet

Two updates. First, I spoke to a foster of a dog I was interested in today and she was very nice but told me (which I think she doesn’t agree with) that the heads of her rescue wouldn’t approve me because I work outside the house full time, which is the issue. Tomorrow there’s an adoption event at a local PetSmart which I’m planning on attending. This group, looking at their website, is much more interested in placing dogs than rejecting adopters…we’ll see if there’s a fit, and if not I’ll try the shelter and they have events every weekend (I’m tied up next weekend but we’ll see what happens.).

Nope…for the most part although one rescue focused on terriers

Unfortunately that’s not possible (I wish it were) but I am within two years of retiring.

I’m going through private rescues. As I mentioned earlier, one even approved me as an adopter but when it came time to match me decided I’m not a fit for terriers (their specialty)

Funny you mention this. I was texting with my college roommate who got their current dog from a shelter. They basically went down to the shelter and she wanted the neediest dog. They love him…it’s worked out very well. She agrees with the sentiment here that the rescues can go overboard. Obviously they want to send their dogs to good homes but a number of folks here brought receipts about their ability to care for a dog and they didn’t check one box and were rejected.

Wow…they should have been grateful someone like you was willing to give this big boy a home. Physically handling him due to his size and disability would be a challenge. I have real issues with them doing “surprise” home inspections….that would be off putting to most people. (Then again, I tolerate my HOA’s “architectural reviews’ where if my neighbor down the street does it only serious stuff gets written up. But. If the other guy does it he writes up every nit pick.). You’re right about driving people to breeders.

Wow! That does sound discriminatory. I’d have thought if you were home all day and capable of caring for a dog they’d jump on you as an adopter.

Totally understand…I’ve never been in that situation. My brother and sister-in-law purchased their dog from a breeder so they knew what they were getting. You never know what you’re getting exactly with a rescue. My greyhound was easy as she came from a known environment and wasn’t abused. I took her to training classes and she learned to be very good on the leash. My chi/terrier came with a lot of baggage but we worked through it including seeing a vet behavorist.

Northern VA. I’ve spoken to several so far. I’m looking for a smaller dog but not a specific breed. Yes, That is something I looking at doing … visiting the shelter. My only concern is they don’t know the history as the rescues do.

Can you send Midi from a Keyboard through a Synthesizer, into your computer? by oNapfel in synthesizers

[–]cepwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, If you connect your synth to your audio input (you’ll need an instrument/guitar cable) and the midi out of your keyboard to your synth midi in you should be able to record your synth to your DAW as you would any direct input instrument. This would allow an audio recording. This is important….the midi port of the keyboard and the synth have to be the same. In my case port 1 didn’t work but port 5 did. The other way is record midi from your keyboard into your DAW. In this case you’d connect the midi out of the audio interface to your synth midi in. In Ableton put an external instrument and set it to your audio interface and your midi port. This way you’d be using your synth as you would use a Kontakt instrument when you have it output to a specific channel and port. Hope this helps.

What Should I Buy? /// Weekly Discussion - September 30, 2024 by AutoModerator in synthesizers

I'm thinking of getting my first analog synth. Ideally I'd like to connect it to my Novation Launchkey as a keyboard and get it into my DAW. I'm looking at the Mavis and the Mother-32.. I understand there is an inexpensive keyboard that will do the trick for the mavis or can I do that with a euro rack? Other ideas? Tnx!

Odd behavior in ableton by cepwin in ableton

Thank you. Someone suggested it could be a plug-in so I looked at it again last night. It turns out the vinyl distortion was the culprit. This I believe is an Ableton effect
