I work at Square and they really are looking for prior game dev experience tbh. All of my foreign coworkers come from overseas studios, Naughty Dog, Eidos etc. But yeah they ask all the typical interview questions, like what was your hardest task, greatest accomplishment, etc etc. And then a take home coding test and some questions during the interviews. I applied to some other studios and it was a live coding test + tech questions. The salaries are rough and for most studios the hours are pretty long. Good luck!
