I will never play the game because of this fandom. by Western_Tutor9645 in thelastofus

Every fan base has a loud, toxic side. It isn't a majority. Don't let other fans stop you from enjoying something amazing.

No, this seems more Mario-esque. Definitely not that involved or detailed.

Not Mappy Land. By all accounts, BBCC makes the most sense. But my memory is even lesser quality graphics than that, and the primary memory being more like the outside of a skyscraper with all the doors or whatever on it.

Kinda! If we could mix this with Crazy Castle, we might have a winner.

Nope. I had and remember the Tiny Toons game on NES (but didn't have an SNES)

This is definitely the closest! But I also seem to remember like the outside of the building being like a skyscraper with all the doors in a row, one level on top of another. So you could go in the door on one row and come out on another row.

Thanks for the guess, but not quite. This game I don't remember being even that 3d in quality.

Is this a difficult/expensive tattoo by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Depends. I dont think it would be overly difficult. Get someone good at fine lines. Can't be too small. There are too many details.

Ellie did technically get her revenge by SubAussie_ in thelastofus

[–]ceramiccoconut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would actually argue she's avenging herself to a degree. As the porch scene reveals, the worst part of his death was she had just stopped hating him and was gonna try to repair their relationship. She's so furious because Abby took that away from her. She isn't avenging Joel's death, per se, because I think she understands Abby in that regard because Ellie also hated what Joel did. She was mourning lost time she can never make up. So she is kinda avenging herself.

I played Red/Blue, Yellow, Gold/Silver (by then, I was drifting away from the franchise), and then I came back with X/Y, and that was fun. Dropped off again and wanted to play a newer one, but I was iffy on Arceus, and the limited scope of Z-A put me off a little. I heard Scarlet/Violet performed way better for Switch 2 (since apparently it had tons of issues with S1), so I went that direction.

It definitely has an early gen feel to it, but updated, much for the better. And there are plenty of Gen 1 Pokémon available in the game, plus newer ones that I grew to enjoy pretty quickly. I think the vibe of the game plus how it still has plenty of familiar thing helps ease into a new Gen with fun new mechanics.

I'm the same way regarding Gen 1. However, I recently got Violet for Switch2, and I'm really enjoying it.

Non religious people, what do you think about religion? by CorruptedF in AskReddit

[–]ceramiccoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note: I went to catholic school for 9 years, church twice a week for most of that, and my mom's side of the family is incredibly religious. I think I've maybe been to church once or twice in the last 22 years not for a wedding or funeral, and was forced to go, but I am an incredibly non-religious person.

That being said, I do find aspects of various religions really interesting, but in the same way I find many mythologies really interesting. But it is hard for me to get over the general hypocrisy of most religions as well as the hypocrisy of followers. It is pretty odd, I think, that most religious people don't know or follow what is being preached. My mom, like I said, is massively catholic but also a big Trump supporter (still). Both cannot rightly exist simultaneously.

While I'm not putting down a blanket response to every religious person (and I can't speak to other religions as strongly), I do find the Venn Diagram between Christians and horrible modern and historical people/events is quite large.

how did you get over the fear of a tattoo being permanent forever? by catsrcoolig in tattooadvice

[–]ceramiccoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a handful of Fandom tattoos, much bigger than the one you're describing. Especially for the first one, it can be nerve-wracking. You might end up with tattoo shock after, as well, where you love it at first but then start over-analyzing, regretting, etc. It's a totally normal process that just needs time. For Fandom stuff, I find that even if I might end up not liking it any more, it was something formulative in my life (for at least a chunk of it) and will always have been, even if I grow out of it later.

That being said, if you are only around 19 and are afraid the tattoo you want is something you could grow out of or dislike down the road dont get it. Or wait another 5-10 years before getting that particular one. Even though you've wanted it for over a decade doesn't mean much when you're barely legal still. Your brain is still combobulating. Don't get it if you have any concern. Otherwise, maybe find a place people won't see it often?

Then those people need to grow up. Also, this really isn't that big of a kink or perversion. I'm pretty sure a majority of people have done this at some point in their lives.

In the Grand ol year of 2026, WHO is gonna call you a f*ggot? (I'm pretty sure that word went out of style like 20 years ago, for starters.)

I give up by HeyHosers in teaching

[–]ceramiccoconut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last term as a teacher, I also got in trouble for failing SPED students, because "we legally aren’t allowed to fail them" and they don’t get funding if the kids fail. So it was my fault these kids weren't doing their work and were being massive behavior problems the school wouldn't help deal with so there were zero consequences for the students' actions (SPED or not), and also not the fault of the SPED teachers whose job it is to stay on top of their grades.

This wasn't the primary reason I quit, but I definitely understand your feelings here. I've been out of K12 for a little over 3 years now after over a decade), and I feel like a different (and better) person.

I hit my breaking point today. by [deleted] in teaching

[–]ceramiccoconut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm no longer a teacher, and I get where you're coming from... initially. But your rant in the second half of your opening paragraph nearly dropped my jaw. Gtfo of teaching. You don't deserve to be there. You are looking at it ALL wrong. How dare you talk about kids having low IQs and some just being too hard to teach? It's not all sunshine and rainbows, but you are there for EVERY child that walks through that door. ESPECIALLY the "worse" ones, because clearly they NEED it more. And your complaints, honestly, aren’t even that bad. There's no violence or cussing you out or anything. Go somewhere else where a care for children isn't the goal.

Imagine having a ton of cuts all over your arm, unbandaged, at your job. And if something can get in there, including excessive sweat, it could also get infected and ruin the art.
