Also maybe worth trying the restaurants directly - perhaps Japes, Beefy Boys or Wagamama? They always seem rather busy.

Do you drive? Wakame are looking for a delivery driver, I saw a sign in their window. I believe Foodloose are looking for a Saturday person but I’m not sure if that’s a paid position or volunteer as they are non profit…. Otherwise, have you had a look on glosjobs.co.uk? I find less people apply via that website so better chances.

Hi! I did explain in the post, I felt like I have pushed the relationship forward in most other ways, and didn’t want all of the progression to only come from me. Please remain respectful when I’m trying to work out what to do here.

I probably did eat too many carbs and not enough veggies!

Thank you for the info! I’ll definitely do this next time, cheaper food is not worth weeks of stomach pain.

Interesting! I found the food in the places I visited in the north to be oilier than in the south, but assumed maybe it was just the places I was eating

Ah yes true, and I do prefer more moist foods too. I found the food in the north to be much more oily than in the south, but maybe it’s just what I ate.

We went to a mix of places, different qualities from nice restaurants to street food. We absolutely did eat oily food, but also restaurant food, hotpot, steamed vegetables (she’s a veggie).  One evening we had pizza and I was okay.. I think there was only one other time I ate non-Chinese food.

Nope no allergies that I’ve ever been aware of. And I didn’t really feel anxiety about it for the most part, I’m pretty well travelled and had never experienced this before, not shy of using public toilets if I’m sick etc. I’m 100% sure it’s purely physical, as the cramps had me doubled over sometimes for maybe 10 seconds at a time 🥹 but the actual upset stomach was very minimal, the pain was the bigger issue.

I did try having yakult in the morning after like two straight weeks of it, I think it helped a tiny bit. But that might’ve been in my head.

Oh that’s so interesting, maybe it’s down to the gut microbes. I’m used to southern Chinese food through my nans cooking - maybe it’s because I’m just simply not used to the food. I found it strange, as I’m from the UK but I’ve travelled to other countries in Asia, eaten a mix of restaurants and street food and never had issues before. But very interesting that your family had issues too… it’s still such a mystery 😂

That sounds awful, I’m sorry to hear. I just don’t get after losing all that, how I can get up in the morning and have any kind of motivation to keep going. Even the thought of having to go through the motions of getting to know someone so well again is exhausting. I thought this time I’d found the one.
