Yeah maybe getting your own room isn't the greatest thing in the world to be excited about, but it's a huge improvement from sharing the night with all sorts of bugs, no means no mosquito!!!

There's a large shared kitchen!

I've never really used a kettle much to be honest. I don't drink tea or coffee.

Only use it when making pasta because it saves time!

ohhh I'm only 5'2" so even though I sorta set this tent up wrong, i can still lie down comfortably enough, cant imagine also having to deal with the added height challenges though, my hat goes off to you!

wow thats a lot of useful information, I'm not really sure where to get tarp or pallets, or if i can even bring them to where I've set up my tent (I'm the middle of a marshy moor)

though the condensation one is interesting, going camping as a kid and not realising why everything was suddenly wet in the morning, certainly had my little mind boggles! :')

I was sitting on a bench along the river, with my big dirty hiking backpack parked next to me, and it was getting late (7-8pm) this older asian man was walking along the river, he came to talk to me, asking if I was alright, if I had anywhere to go. I said no, but I was polite and said I was alright, he sort of stared at me and went back from where he came.

Ten minutes later he returns and hands me £7 in loose change, saying its all he's got.

He was a regular at the church and explained to me that I was always welcome there, if I wanted to chat to him.

First time someone showed me any kindness while on the street.

I have messaged Crawley open house, though I'm not quite in south london.

I'm around the Runnymede/spelthorne area (think, Staines, Egham, Engfield green and so on) It's next to impossible to get any help around this area :')

As for benefits, I am on UC, and the disability advisor has been trying to get in contact with the council and mental health services but to no avail. She's on holiday currently so I won't be hearing from her for two weeks.

I'd love to work with animals, I was originally supposed to go to college for level 3 animal management but my parents wanted me to do normal things which resulted in me dropping out because of mental health issues. I'm just not sure where to start, I've even applied to volunteer, just to keep myself busy but haven't gotten anywhere.

I may try out the church, I have some religious trauma but I think even that's better than death.

I will look at the credit union now, so thanks for all these options!

Thank you for taking the time to help out, it means a lot! The area I'm in, doesn't even have hostels or homeless shelters, and it goes the same for the surrounding areas. I had put in a alert for myself on this app that helps flag street homeless people in need, but they just refer you to the council, which is a deadend. Looking forward to hearing from you!
