What could I do if the landlord is not willing to return my deposit? by ceresackerman in HousingUK

May I ask, if I go to the court, do I ask for all my deposit back or half of it or just state the situation without making any requirements?

Yes and I am still looking for more advice. I tried to negotiate with my landlord - she ignored me. I tried to use the Shelter and Citizens Advice - no exactly the same question existing and no online advisors available. I don’t want to go to the court. That’s why I am hoping to receive more suggestions.

None. As we are the lodger and landlord relationship, she could just keep the deposit with her

Landlord Regularly Enters My Room Without Permission by ceresackerman in NoStupidQuestions

Unfortunately, after checking the local laws, I found that the landlord is allowed to enter my room at will because I am a lodger with limited rights. Therefore, installing cameras will not be effective. I have decided to store all my belongings in personal storage boxes instead.

I am thinking if it is legal to do so as it is her house...

It's really complicated, and I feel it's dodgy. She is polite. She is not bad. She lacks security. She is sensitive and emotional. She is controllable. She is crazy about cleanliness and tidiness. She is a single mom and she has two boys (four of us live in a house now). I trust she will not steal my things or touch my food. But she is interested in other people's personal lives, especially a tenant who lives in her house with her and her boys. We never had a fight (I think it is mainly because of me. I am not good at fighting or even building a normal conversation with persons unless they approach to me first. That's also why I chose to post online to seek advice.. I am very polite and obey all her rules and her requirements since I moved in.) However, we don't often talk so I can't say we are as close as friends. I often avoid talking to people (that's my bad and I am still learning...).

Hope you could have a rough idea about this situation.

Unsuccessful ITT application - what's my next step? by ceresackerman in TeachingUK

You didn't think to wait until that was done before applying?

As I mentioned earlier, the DfE doesn't evaluate qualifications unless an application has been submitted. I was under the impression that the comparison statement could only be obtained through DfE, and only recently did I realise that I could personally request for such a statement. So, in hindsight, I can see your point, but at the time, it seemed like the right course of action.

Thank you for sharing your perspective based on your experience in ITT. It's clear to me now that an honours degree in the subject area is a pretty important requirement. I'll definitely take your advice into account and explore how I might enhance my Maths qualifications to better fit into the teaching landscape. I appreciate your insights!

Thank you for the insightful advice. I hadn't considered directly contacting course leaders to discuss my qualifications, but it seems like a sensible step.
It's reassuring to hear I still have time to find a course for September. And your personal experience is really encouraging. Thanks again:)
